On arrival, no matter what time of day or night you will be very warmly welcomed by either Nikos, Niki, Maria or Keterina the family that own this lovely hotel set in the village / hamlet of Lambi which is basically a twenty minute stroll to the centre of Kos. Buses run past at the exact time of 20 minutes to the hour and they are never late. It cost just 1. 5 euro for the trip. Britain could do well to find out what their secret of being punctual is. The rooms are fairly large, we had three beds in ours even although there were only two of us. The cabin style kitchen holds everything that can help two people to survive but do not invite any guests around or they will have to bring a chair, cutlery, cup, knife, fork, spoon. We had a large balcony overlooking the hills and got the sun from the early hours of the morning. The maid was in DAILY beds made, rubbish out and floors mopped, towels and bedding changed every TWO days. So many really charming, helpful people it was a real pleasure to not only stay at their hotel but to meet them. On the downside, it seems that all the nieghbours have dogs that bark at all hours and cockerels that just love to wake you up in the morning. Kefeli boasts one of the biggest swimming pools in the area and it really is well maintained an lovely to swim in. They have special Greek nights, bbq nights and spit roast meals during the week and their food is absolutely superb.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea room and you might manage to see it, but the sun very rarely drops into your sitting z...

Good Points:
Nice clean hotel with extremely helpful staff which is family run. Close enough to Kos town that you can walk in if you wish (all flat ground). Beach is about 200 metres away which consists mostly of small shingle (same for most of the island). The rooms are basic but clean and they are cleaned every day!.The outdoor pool is excellent and is probably one of the best around. The food served is excellent, fresh and well prepared.Local bus stop is just outside the hotel and comes at 20 minutes to the hour daily and is extremely punctual! (Cost from hotel to Kos town is 1.50e, taxis 7.00e)

Bad Points:
Nothing major but could do with either more or larger solar tanks as getting hot water is hit or miss , mostly miss in our case.
Barking dogs, there's loads of them , not the hotels fault as they are not theirs but can be a bit of annoyance if you dont like the sounds of our furry canine friends at 2am!

Room Tip: One with a sea view (Keeps the noise of the Hounds of the Baskervilles at bay)

First time in Kos for us and we were not disappointed. The hotel was run by a family who were great from the outset.. We had the room above the small shop, which was a family room with a double bed and 2 singles. The room had everything we needed and it was very clean and tidy. On the subject of cleanliness, the whole hotel was spotless!
Breakfast was basic but was fine and all other food we ate at the hotel was great - large portions of home made food. The pool and bar area were clean and tidy and the facilities adequate. We sat up drinking until the early hours nearly every night and were always made to feel welcome by Nikos and family.
Kos town is a short 30 minute walk away or you can catch the bus outside the hotel for around 1.50 euro. We did this on a couple of occasions and the bus drops you right in the harbour. We rented a car from a place just around the corner from the hotel but the hotel also offered to arrange this for us.

All in all a great stay in a great little hotel. I would much rather stay somewhere like this as opposed to the larger all-inclusive type hotels elsewhere on the island. Would recommend to anyone going to Kos.

My husband and I flew to Kos to get married. Though we stayed at a different hotel we had family and friends stay at this lovely little gem of a hotel.
I visited my family and friends most days here and the lovely family were so kind in letting me and my other non guests use their facilities to sunbathe and swim.
On my last night on the island all my wedding guests came to the hotel for a final dinner together before we flew our seperate ways. The staff couldn't have done enough for us.
The food here is home cooked and delicious and they have BBQ night's which are popular.
I will stay here when I return to Kos for an Anniversary.

The hotel it very nice with a huge clean pool and kids pool. There are two bar areas one inside and one outside, a ping pong and pool table and games to play. The wifi was terrible we could hardly get any anywhere even in reception. Our room was facing the pool it was ok, the mattress was so hard though i could feel the springs, the curtains are thin and do not block out any light and the dogs in the area barked non stop all day and night (not the hotels fault) Even with ear plugs i could still hear them. I think a few smaller improvements with the curtains and the bed and it would of been an amazing stay. we mentioned it to the owner on the second last night and she changed us to the apartments which were a lot darker and the bed slightly better, it is our fault for not mentioning it to them at the start but we didnt want to complain as they staff were so sweet and lovely. We think they will take our suggestions on board with the curtains they really care about their guests :)

Room Tip: try booking the self contained apartments on the same premises, much better

This was my second visit to the Nefeli hotel, i visited a couple of years back and was very happy with my stay. This time i took my older sister with me as she wanted a break and somewhere to totally relax, problem solved. The staff are super so helpful without being in your face..Nikos 's lamb roasted in the traditional oven is sublime. The swimming pool is large and very clean(its Niks little pet) sun loungers are cleaned every morning so you don't get somebody else s oil on you. Transport no problem bus stops outside hotel. Superb value.wonderful staff. Wont be my last visit.

This hotel has everything you could want from efficient, friendly family run service, lovely clean modern bedrooms, cleaned daily to a high standard, excellent food, lovely friendly and hospitable family that run it, and best of all its relaxing and fun at the same time! The breakfasts are a bit basic, but thats generally greece for you. However, there was a good supply of fresh bread at breakfast, along with yoghurts, a selection of jams, chocolate spreads etc, and a plentiful supply of hot drinks, from a machine that does coffee, hot chocolate drinks, and hot water and tea bags for those who prefer tea, plus there is a fresh orange juice machine that you serve yourself. If like me you are solo and half board, the bar snacks menu is extensive and varied, with all food made fresh to order. Its simply divine, (the food that is), and the half board i had each evening was very good too, and again freshly made. The pool area by the snack bar is clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds, and well kept as well. If you haven't been to kos before try the nefeli hotel lambi, I would definitely recommend this hotel as excellent! Also the rooms are mostly twin beds with en-suite bathroom, with shower over the bath, a toilet and a wash hand basin. Sleep quality was very good, as it wasn't near any nightclubs. this hotel is the jewel in Kos's crown.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool are nicer as they have a view of the surrounding area, and catch the...
