“Resort was exactly what we'd hoped for...”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We stayed at Pelagos Suites in June 2013 with my partner and I in one room and my parents in another room nearby. We booked the resort through Thomas Cook but just went for self-catered as we wanted to eat out in the town more. All the reviews I read on here said if you went for this option, you would get an "old" room which worried me but we decided to go with it anyway...and so glad we did! The rooms were definitely "older" than the pictures on the website but I'd only say they were 10 or or so years old and were still lovely. The decor was a bit outdated but they were really clean and while the self catering facilities weren't amazing, there was enough stuff there for us to be able to have cereal for breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch on the days we didn't go out...so it's fine unless you want to cook yourself fancy dinners (but who wants to do that on holiday!). Speaking of food, the other reason we didn't go all-inclusive was because I've heard so many stories of dodgy buffets and lack of variety (who wants to eat Italian and Chinese when you're in Greece?!) but we ended up eating dinner at the buffet twice and it was delicious. Highlights were the lovely fresh salad with lots of feta, tasty grilled meats and the HUGE glasses of wine you get when you're not on all-inclusive! As for the resort itself, it's just exactly like the pictures. The pool areas are beautiful and really modern, with super comfy loungers, and the gardens were lush. Plus the resort is also in a really handy spot for getting into Kos Town...bus stop out the front and although it doesn't seem to stick to the timetable, it's only about a 10-15min journey once you're on. And walking back wasn't too bad - it's all along a main road with reasonable lighting but even at our pretty fast pace, it still took us half an hour...good for walking off all the big meals we had in town though!

Overall we had a great holiday in Kos and the main reason for that (apart from the gorgeous weather) was Pelagos, so we would definitely recommend it!

Just back from an amazing week at the Pelagos Suites hotel in Kos. Absolutely loved it. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced and the pool area was the best we've had. We hired a cabana for the week for only €20 a day - total bargain as we needed somewhere to get some shade away from the hot sun!

The children had an amazing time on the water slides and the staff of the kids club and entertainment seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Special thanks go to Olia of the entertainment team who kept our 'little princess' entertained above and beyond the call of duty. Olia we love you!

The only slight issue we had was with the evening entertainment. Due to the nature of the layout of the hotel it meant that we could hear the entertainment at top volume in our room til past 11pm most nights and until midnight on Friday night. This lead to some v late nights for the kids which wasn't great but it didn't spoil our enjoyment.

Having said that I realise the hotel has to balance the needs of all of it guests and I was very satisfied with how they dealt with our complaint about the noise level.

I would fully recommend this hotel and in fact would love to go back again next year.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room by the main bar - very loud at night.

We just returned from a fabulous holiday at Pelagos hotel. The weather was gorgeous, not even a cloud during our stay there. Our second holiday at Pelagos. I would reccomend it to anyone. We went last september for a week.and went again for my 50th and came back yesterday. Omg i love it there.10 mins from kos town on the bus.

There are 4 pools, 2 of them quieter. Olga is doing a fantastic job, she really made time for us whenever we sat in her section. She was a true star, fabulous, polite & friendly.
The staff members really did a fantastic job & Pelagos management should be very proud to have them on their team.

There was also a guy who served in the evening in the pool bar area, don't know his name but he had a problem of attitude, he was very noisy and too friendly, crossing some limits sometimes. Plus that he is sending people away from the bar, which I find it very disturbing. They should take some actions on this!

The restaurants were all great, good variety and it's all tasty! The staff make the hotel, they all work so hard to make your holiday the best.

You can go into town on the bus 3 euros return they run until 11 at night but they do get very busy on the return trip and a taxi will cost you 10 to 12 euros one way if you miss the last bus. Kos town is very much worth a couple of visits even so. We did a couple of trips one to nissiros the volcanic island we got the boat from Kardamena check out the Garden cafe bar in Kardamena it is a great place to relax. Also did the 3 island tour from Kos the boat was called Family day it was great fun but if you sit in the front of the boat be prepared to get very wet. Also did the sunset trip to Zia our tip eat early before 7 oclock then head up to the Watermill cafe bar relax and watch the sunset with ouso and homemade lemonade great place to chill.
Is definitely a place I would go back anytime!

We have just returned from a great week all inclusive in a junior suite (We emailed the hotel prior to going after seeing tips on here) we wanted ground floor with day bed and that's what we got. Fantastic room overlooking an ornamental pool. Food was great, wide choice something to suit everyone. Staff fantastic always friendly and helpful. The entertainment was a little annoying , I would rather have peace during the day buts that's my preference. The animation team were all lovely and unfortunately they all got asked to leave towards the end of our week which was very sad for them as they hadn't been there for very long but had all bonded well. We didn't use the beach opposite the hotel as it was rough and not very inviting, but a short walk or cycle around the corner is a fabulous beach with very cool bar and restaurant it's called Mylos, would definitely recommend going there as the water was flat and much nicer. We hired bikes from the hotel to go into Kos which is 4 euros a day and an easy flat ride on a cycle path. Another day we hired (via the Hotel) a 1000cc beach buggy, very noisy but so much fun (90 euros) we managed to get across to several places on the island that we wanted to visit. We did the hot springs, wouldn't bother again, very busy and a long walk down! Went to an old castle up in the mountains called old Piri (I think) really lovely amazing views. A couple of other things to point out, the hotel do not supply tea, coffee or anything in the rooms, they do supply a kettle and very small cups though! Also the all inclusive does stop at 11pm which is a little annoying, but other than that, had a fantastic week and would definitely go back .

Room Tip: We had a junior suite room 718 ,email Georgio before you go to ask for room with day bed ( no sea vi...

We stayed in this 4 * hotel in a Junior suite I just thought id write what I hope to be a informative and helpful review . this hotel is very nice but of two standards All inclusive is what it says it is but with a few more restrictions than other All Inclusive holiday's we have been on ,The location is VERY isolated so if you do a self catering holiday other than the hotel shop there is only one shop and one restaurant, so you will have to be prepared to take the bus either into Lambi which to be honest is not very nice or into Kos . Across the road from the Hotel is a stretch of coarse sand and pebble beach .its ok if you love to sunbathe but I would say totally unsuitable for young children .Because of the wind Kos gets although very pleasant when your basking in the sun it makes the waves very strong. Also beach shoes are essential !!!
The hotel pools are very nice and there is one in a little area just for children but I should imagine in high season it would be a nightmare .
Hotel staff are very a pleasent and very helpful, Our holiday was a pleasant one but I would say that only part of the hotel is bordering 4* ,the self catering maybe a 2*

Room Tip: all inclusive junior suite

We have just arrived back from a lovely stay at The Pelagos Suites for a week duration from 27th June - 4th July. We are a young couple and stayed Self Catering. I have to say that we were sceptical of the self-catering studio after reading many reviews on TripAdvisor about them being dated, un-refurbished and tired. We were shocked to walk into our bright, fresh, sea view studio which was the complete opposite of this. We had two beds which were not singles but more 3/4 small doubles, a spacious, clean, nicely decorated room and a lovely marble bathroom with a power shower – hot water was ALWAYS available! The self-catering facilities WERE simple and basic, to be honest though we did not use, and did not need to use the self-catering facilities, one reason being food is available at the hotel bar for cheap prices, and second, there are dozens of lovely restaurants in walking distance or a short taxi or bus trip away in Kos Town where the variety and standard of food is second to none.

We upgraded to All Inclusive for one day which was 45Euros per person per day - all drinks, bar snacks and buffet included. We were not personally impressed with the standard of all inclusive buffet, but this was the reason we opted for Self Catering as we personally prefer to find nearby authentic Greek restaurants serving local cuisine. Breakfast was great, fresh omelettes and fruit. For Lunch and Dinner there was a wide selection and it was really great to have the option to go All Inclusive – even just for the day, and the price was really great considering the inclusions!

The hotel in general was really impressive, the pools were clean and relaxing, however the main pool is a little more upbeat with the hotel reps and daytime entertainment/activity programs, and you can just go to the quieter pools where you do not have as much atmosphere. We had NO PROBLEM getting a sun bed, sometimes we wouldn’t go to the pool until 1pm and there would be sun beds available, there was no need to get up early to reserve them!

The bar staff are really great, especially 'Buffalo Bill' who was always really chatty and friendly. The reception staff were also great and helpful, they gave us restaurant recommendations, called us taxis and were readily available if we had a problem - one evening we had a leak in our apartment from the ceiling. We called reception and it was fixed straight away. They even provided us with a spare room to shower in on the last day, as we had a late flight - free of charge!!

If you are Self-Catering, Kos Town is definitely worth walking down to. The walk is around 30-35 minutes and is a really straight forward walk, and easy. Once you are there, there is everything you could want, bars, clubs, excursions and a wide variety of amazing restaurants. We would recommend Platinos Restaurant, La Strega Restaurant and Petrino, - These all have amazing menus and great traditional Greek food - in quieter locations of Kos Town.
Overall we would definitely return to Kos Town and we would return to Pelagos Suites and stay in the self-catering apartments again! Do not be scared to book self-catering by the poor reviews as we were pleasantly surprised!

Room Tip: Do not be afraid of the Self Catering Rooms - They are Lovely!
