we have just come back after a two week holiday at the ampavris and i have to say it was fantastic
george and his family made us feel very welcome nothing was to much trouble. room 27 was basic
as are most appartments on any greek island but it was very clean and a good size. towels and bedding were changed regularly. the appartments were set in and around lovely kept gardens and the pool was a good size and very clean my only complaint if i had to make one would be more sun beds. kos town is just a short walk down a narrow road were there are plenty of resturants sifis on the harbour front and ampavris short walk down the road from the.appartments is a must. kos town itsself is lovely you will find something different every time go i would recomend you hire a push bike as the town and surounding areas have its own cycle lanes and its a good way to see kos. having been to a few greek islands in the past kos is sertainly worth a visit plenty to do and see or just relax. a big thanks to george and his family for making us feel very welcome and we hope to see you soon.

Ampavris Apartments met our expectations, we were really happy with our room and the facilities were good, especially the pool area, which was a good size. Plently of space in the apartment its self, with cooking facilities (kettle, 2 ring cooker) available, fridge/freezer.

The owners were very warm, welcoming, friendly & lots of fun!

In a very good location, we rented a scooter from Moto 1 in Kos town, costing 20 euro's per day, not bad at all considering we got to view almost the whole island of Kos on less than 10 euros worth of fuel! If you prefer to walk however, Kos town is only 15-20 minute walk away and is a very pleasent route.

Thanks for having us & we will see you again in the near future.

Room Tip: We stayed at the front on the ground floor with a pool view, in the old rooms, which we were happy w...

Ampavris Family Apartments, KOS, Dodecanesos Greece - is a must at least once in your life. A wonderfuly setting with the warmest of welcome from the family and staff at these apartments, the best swimming pool in KOS. Local to the town where there is so much to see and do, there are boat trips, local buses, car and bike hire - no need to book through the tour operators the prices are good and the locals treat you so well and ensure you have the best time every - everything you need is so close at hand. The Amparviris Family Apartments is lovely with beautiful views across the hills and out to Turkery, Kos town itself has a multitude of good bars and resturants, head to Koako resturant at the Marina for an excellent meal with a nice setting. All in all this was one of the best two weeks we could ever have wished for, everyone on Kos ensures you have a wonderful relaxing holiday, customer service everywhere is excellent. An island you cannot help but fall in love with, and Ampavris is ideal - good accommodation, excellent service all the family ensure you holiday is something you will always remember.

Room Tip: Far end of the complex get a balcony if you can.

I stayed at this self catering apartment for 1 week with my family and was delighted by the friendly, family run atmopshere. Room 20 was simple, clean and close to the pool and bar. There was an excellent resturaunt (same name as hotel) located down the road and town was a 10 minute walk.

Given that I and my brother are in our 20s and holidaying with our mum this location was great for all of us. Make sure you pay 35 euros for the airconditioning its well worth it!! The pool table was a constant source for hilarity and while the bar does close about 3am, there was always friendly people to sit and have a drink with. We were able to book scooters and quad bikes cheaply through the hotel and happily leave mum to chill and socialise around the pool. Kos is a relatively small island with lots to see and do (ruins, beaches, shopping), I personally recommend Zia for a sunset view evening meal, the Askelpion and Kos Castle.

George, the main man recommended an excellent meal in Platani and along side his staff did everything to make our stay really enjoyable. We would definitely come again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room located near to the pool and bar! Dont worry about noise.

The Ambavris is located around 20 minutes walk from the main harbour in Kos Town. The first 10 minutes is down a country road with only one taverna to break the monotony. Kos Town has an excellent selection of bars and tavernas and we seemed to find a new street every night that we had not previously visited. The beach is nothing special although the padded sun beds and umbrellas at 5 euros per day are a bargain. For a sandy beach, take the hourly bus to Tigaki (2 euros each way).

There is a good sized swimming pool with jacuzzi area which was always clean and clear of any leaves, insects etc. The sun beds are not all adjustable and on some days there weren't enough to go round (made worse by people reserving them for hours on end without making any appearance)

The bar is open until the early hours and is staffed by the owner George and his family. They are really friendly and make everyone feel welcome. The drinks are a little more expensiver than in town but this is made up for by the occasional free drink or shot. There is a limited food service available from 8am to 8pm serving breakfasts and snacks.

Our room (No 27) was spotless but basic. We were very short of cutlery and glassware and this was not resolved during our stay. George's philosophy of "don't worry, be happy" also seems to extend to fixing things. We had a night flight home so asked for a late book out room - we got one but weren't sure of it until our last morning which had my wife concerned all week. I guess that the water is heated by solar power as there didn't seem to ever be any available in the morning but by evening we were always able to have a hot powerful shower.

Overall a very enjoyable stay but could be made better for a little expense by ensuring all the rooms have a full compliment of cooking and eating utensils.

The first night we where put in a dreadful room (no17) its a large cupboard with very steep steps. Its the only aparment which has steps. After a bit of a todo we where moved by lunchtime the next day to a lovely appartment it was basic but clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was very tiny but had a lovely view but the room was only cleaned twice in the week and the bedding and towels changed once. The appartments are in a lovely quiet position with open aspect views and a super pool. They do need some more sunbeds as some are broken. A little shop just round the corner which was cheap and stocked most things. Their is a Carrefour and a Lidle which is a lot cheaper on the main road going towards the airport. The walk into Kos Town is pleasent and does not take long and has street lights for the walk back. We found the bar a little more expensive than expected I got a Hot chocolate ands 2 slices of toast for 5 euros and a pizza for 6 euros. The ampavri restaurant just down the road is worth a visit reasonable price and nice food. We hired a quad from safe wheels who gave very good service would recomend them for bike and car hire. Loved Kos town so pretty with lots to do. Greece is not as cheap as it used to be, unfortunatly, but we would go back to these appartments as we had a good holiday.

Room Tip: avoid 17 number 11 nice room
