We have booked our staying 1+ month earlier and we have requested a double bed. When we arrived we have been given 2 spare beds. The staff was rude, they didn't even change our towels or sheets all the 4 days we stayed and the breakfast was really really poor and bad quality.

When we got there, the woman with glasses from the reception rolled her eyes and looked miserable. She did not even say Hello or Welcome. She just demanded to show her our ID. She kept our IDs until the next day. When we asked her to give them back, she barked that she needs them. Why the hell do you need an ID for more than 24h? Are you from the police?? The breakfast was poor, cheap and pathetic. In the country of feta cheese, olives and great yoghurt you will not find any of these. Just plastic juice, plastic ham and cheese and boiled eggs. Brown water called coffee. What a joke. We did not know that we have to take the plates in the kitchen when we finish eating, never heard of that before, we left them on the table and an old woman came after us and shouted and I bet she was swearing us in greek. The next day she gave us hundreds of dirty looks all the time. When I took the plates in the kitchen, she shouted that I need to take a tray too.,, Never eat on a table without a tray''!!!. What the hell was that all about??? Is it kfc or a hotel's restaurant?? the management needs to fire all these staff with mental issues and hire others. The cleaning staff does not knock. She came inside our room one day, found us naked, did not say anything, just left and left the door open too. We could never sleep more than 2 hours a night. The guests slam the doors and shout all night. Around 6 in the morning the cleaning staff shows up and they sound like they are tearing up the hotel. Why do they make so much noise, I don't know. The bathroom does not have a window, just a hole. You will hear what all the others are doing in their room. One day when we came back from the beach, our bathroom door was blocked. The receptionist came and opened it with a key and said we pushed a button from the inside. How the hell did we do that if we were at the beach??? The only things that I liked were that they clean the room every day, the wifi works in the rooms too, there are no mosquitos even if u keep the balcony door open with lights on at night, the center is very close but keep an eye on the bicycles, they are everywhere and no one cares if they hit you or not and the beach is close too. In the day we left, the receptionist with glasses did not even say goodbye or come back again, she just demanded us to pay the greek tax. The island of Kos is gorgeous but the people are rude and sick of tourists.

Room tip: do not choose a room at the ground floor if you want to sleep at night

We are staying at the Theonia hotel and we love it so much! It is located in a very good area near Kos city and is very close to the beach. The room is clean and has new furniture, the service is good, the owner is very nice and helps you with advice. it is a 2 star hotel but could be a good 3 star hotel. Really recommended to those who like quiet and comfortable hotels, not too expensive, near the beach and the city. You can rent bikes right near the hotel as we did and enjoy exploring the area.

Downsides:

- The breakfast that was included, was poor, cheap, and lacking in both quality and variety (recommend not even trying it, it is not worth it! PS: there is a restaurant quite close by called The Caravan, the owner, Hasan will be more than happy to assist with breakfast and other meals with fresh and tasty produce);

- the furniture seems made for a doll house - it is stiff and inpractical;

- the mattresses were so hard that we were barely able to sleep during the entire vacation (we used the blankets from the closet to make them feel a bit softer), the pillows were small and uncomfortable;

- there was a lot of noise at night, if you are a light sleeper this is surely not the place to go, unless you want to leave the place feeling even more tired than when you came on holiday;

Plus points:

- the hotel is close to the beach/the port/restaurants and a supermarket;

- the room was cleaned on a daily basis.

Great little hotel. Stay here for a week at the end of September. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good accessible location for Kos Town.
Only 10 min walk to marina and harbour. Sheets and towels changed every other day. Room clean and well appointed. Breakfast more than acceptable.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again when next in Kos.
