The castle was very interesting, some quite old architecture. Reasonable entry fee too. Plus lovely views over Kos Town and the coast.

Not sanitised at all, just ruins and views. Well worth a wander about. Get there early to avoid the boat trips

Have just looked at other reviews and don't know why there was no charge when we visited ! Was it the time of year or because it was a Sunday ? Whichever I feel it is a shame that when the island seems to be struggling financially that there was no charge. Okay there was little information about the site but like many Greek monuments it was possible to get close to the history of the place and drink it in, take in the views and escape the hustle and bustle of the town ! The lady on the bridge asking for money for milk for her baby could have been a bit off putting for some but I would still say it is worth a visit.

My wife and I once again this year took a three island boat trip from Kos town, the name of the boat was the oddessy. the trip included a visit to Plati kilimnos and serimos,( I'm not sure of the spelling.) captain yannis was very entertaining and the barbeque on board was excellent. a really good day out for twenty eight euro's including being picked up from our hotel in Tigaki by coach and returned .... recommended

This castle is not to be missed by visitors to Kos Town. Like a lot of Greek historical sites it suffers from a lack of information but some homework prior to a visit pays dividends.
