This is newer history that what you normally see in Greece as a lot of it was built by the crusaders and later the ottomans.

It is 100% touristic town, but very friendly with moderate price.
Plenty of restaurant, bars, night clubs.
Shops are open till midnight.
small port with boat for a day and ferry to Turkey.

don't pay the ticket ( if there is ) in order to see something awful and ABANDONED!!! if you want to see something important try an other island or go to acropolis!!!

It was the first visited island in Dodecanese in my 2 weeks Sailing Trip. A rather big island, very beautiful, you can visit historical sites or just spend time in tavernas or bars. The castle is a must visit as for the restaurants i reccomend do not stop to the first in line in the marina, just go up on small streets breaking up from the main road. Most of them open around noon but the food os fresh. One reccomendation is Pantheon restaurant, greek-italian cuisine, great service (ask for Cristi) and very good food.
