We stayed at the Denise Apartments some time ago now, so please do consider that before reading this review.
The apartments were clean and tidy, and had two single beds rather than a double - something you tend to come to expect on European holidays. The manageress Maria was absolutely lovely, and was incredibly helpful whenever we needed it - Niko not so much, but perhaps that was a matter of taste.
This is an absolutely perfect example of a family run hotel. The family basically live in the hotel, with family members working in the bar, or drinking in it, most of the time.
The apartments are a bit of a walk into Kos Town, perhaps 20 minutes, but you can hire bikes which make things quicker. As with most hotels like this, you do tend to get caught on extra costs. You have to pay extra for air conditioning, to loan bikes, to keep your room on for an extra few hours if you have an odd transfer time. This isn't all too big a problem, but you should be aware.
We enjoyed our stay here, but wouldn't go back again. Nikos' slightly laddish behaviour made us slightly uncomfortable but it really depends on taste. We thought he was a bit obnoxious, and a bit over the top for a manager, others would probably think he was a great bloke who made their holiday very enjoyable.
