“Lovely hotel but not particularly child friendly design.”
Reviewed April 16, 2011

Hotel beutiful. We received a free upgrade to a luxury suite with private pool. The room was lovely, although the sofa bed was not suitable for adults - a bit ricketty. The water was freezing in the pool, but we expected that in April - however the "heated indoor pool" isn't actually heated, and was also freezing. The kids were disappointed with this.
The food was lovely, good quality and plenty of choice.
The setting was lovely, although the beach was a mess. I am sure they will tidy this up for the seasdon. My youngest enjoyed making a wigwam on the beach with all the bambo canes that were everywhere. I would go back but I would avoid peak season as I think the restuarant would stuggle to cope.
Also a big thankyou to Kos hospital who saved my sons life from an allergic reaction (nothing to do with food at the Diamond I would add). Don't rely on the internet access either!

We really had a magnificent vacation on Kos and loved this hotel. Would have been perfect except for loud music (not my taste) played all day from the poolside bar - a problem at many resort hotels. Otherwise, no complaints. The hotel decor is very tasteful and low-keyed and the ambience exceeded our expectations. The island itself is a treat. Rent a car for a day to explore. The hotel breakfast and dinner (part of our plan) was more than adequate but not exceptional. The beach is beautiful and restful.

I've stayed in the hotel in the middle of September for a short vacation for 3 nights/4 days.
The hotel is very clean, and during our stay, it was half booked, therefore it was very quite.
The hotel is surrounded with biggest swimming pool ever :), and transparent water...

The breakfast is standard (enough food for morning), and the dinner is a bit better, the food during the dinner is varied for day to day.

The rooms are big and comfortable. There is a free wifi in the lobby and pool bar area (don't expect to high throughput). Free guest parking is available, also bikes and car rental service exists. Hotels private beach is across the main road (1 min of walking), with laying mattress and bar service.

The master color in the hotel (rooms, the building pool...) is white therefore it seems very clean and big.

Public bus service in front to the hotel from KOS center , the bus runs every 10-20 min. and the journey takes around 20 min.

In generally, great place for quite vacation

We have just come back from our 3rd vist to the Diamond what can i say just as perfect as the other times from the rooms i still want to bring the lovely round bed home with me to the staff as in marcus george and olga running the bars to Mary in the shop the food is great and i say that as i am a very fussy eater and there was something there for me at breakfast and at the evening meal if i could change 1 thing it would be the policy they have brought in just a few weeks ago apparently, that you have to put your drinks that you get at the bar on your room i did not like this as i like to know what i am spending and dont like a shock at the end of the holiday but apart from that was great keep up the good work and hopefuly we will be back sometime next year

We spent 10 nights in the Diamond Deluxe Hotel at the beggining of the month and really enjoyed it. Our flight getting into Kos was really late and when we arrived, we were taken to our room and they had laid out a salad for us and some water. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and dinner. We thought the dinners were lovely, and there was always a lot of choice - lots of different meats and fish. And it wasnt always the same thing everynight like in some hotels.

Our room was really nice and clean - it was cleaned daily and you could chose how often you had your towels changed (they also prive pool towels which is a bonus). The shower was slighly wonky but thats no big deal. And the bath was a jacuzzi bath which was nice although neither myself of my friend tried it out. The bed was huge and really confortable. We had some sliding doors out the back of the room which opened directly out onto the pool. We had our own sunloungers there and a table with some chairs - not all rooms have the sunloungers outside but we requested a pool view and were really lucky to get it! The pools were lovely and clean and there were even some outside jacuzzi pools. The beach is just across the road and is ok - its a bit grassy but on the upside, sunloungers were provided and there as a waiter who would come round and take orders for drinks/food.

The pool bar has a nice setting although the entertainment there wasnt really to our taste. They had a greek dancing night one night and a guy singing another night. The wine wasnt great, but there were plent of other drinks to chose from although they were slighly pricey. We actually spent quite a few nights just at the pool bar and went into Kos town the other nights. We just asked the lady at reception to call us a taxi and within 10-15 minutues, we were in Kos town. A taxi is 9-10 euros which is pretty reasonable. If you want to leave the hotel, then you have to be prepared to take taxis becuase there is nothing around the hotel other than other hotels and even they are quite far away. So there are no shops nearby but there is a shop on the hotel premesis where you can get what you need - there isnt much in there to be honest but I cant imagine anyone would need much more than what was on offer.

The staff were firendly and always willing to help. All in all, this is a good hotel and you can have the best of both worlds here - tranquillity in the day then jump in a taxi and get the bustle of the town.

My friend and me stayed at the Diamond Hotel last week. We were impressed by the goergeous setting and the hotel looks really like it does on the photos, but it isn't a 5 star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was a waiter coming to the beach every now and then so you could order drinks and food. But the bathroom was already showing fungi at the edgeds (in the shower), the cleaning lady had obviously never been taught that cleaning involves also removing hair. We had two rooms and it was the same in my friend's room.

The breakfast buffet was good, though it was lacking a plate of fresh fruit which is usually available in good hotels. Then the dinner, oh my god. The salads and appetizers (normal green salad, chick pea salad, bean salad etc. sometimes salmon, roastbeef) were great but the main course was just horrible apart from the one evening when they served Greek food. It usually was a mix of different kinds of meat and fish without a theme and always in horrible sauces. I often skipped the main course and ate the appetizers and desserts.

The drinks at the hotel bar were disgusting, I had never had such a terribble Margarita before, my friend took a Mojito which was equally horrid. So we went to Kos town where there are some nice cocktail bars that serve excellent drinks at a lower cost.

In general we had a good holiday but if you are expecting a five star hotel it is not this hotel you want to go to.
