Absolutely beautiful gardens, with a lovely veranda to sit and enjoy the scenery on warm sicilian evenings. The apartment was quaint with everthing you need, there was fresh fruit in the bowl and we had fresh pastries every morning which was a lovely treat :-) Selinunte is short car drive (approx 5-10mins) which has a stunning beach in a nature park about a 10 minute walk up from the busier beach. The town itself is lovely with an amazing ice-cream bar called Mozarts which I'd say is a must, and there's also the Penguin Bar which we spent many an afternoon in. After my afternoon siesta we enjoyed our late night socialising in Selinunte where the shops re-open for the night and theres plenty of stalls, we visited a pizzeria called Bruno's (Africa) which had amazing made in front of you pizza's in a traditional stone pizza oven (with a choice of chocolate pizza which went down great with the kids) there is plenty of choice for restaurants. I've visited villa mimosa several times and have always been warmly welcomed and looked after. I am looking forward to my trip next year for our honeymoon.

We had the warmest welcome from Jackie on arriving at Villa Mimosa on a gorgeous sunny day. Our suite, Demeter (twin bedded) was filled with the biggest bouquet of flowers and a huge bowl of fresh fruit - the fridge and cupboards were well stocked with the basics and by our beds beautiful posies which I assume were cuttings that were taken from the gardens. Outside our front door was a vine covered canope under which we would sit for breakfast and one night, dinner. Villa Mimosa is set in stunning surroundings of orange groves and is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to visit not only Selinute but Mazara del Vallo, Marsala and even Segesta.

Villa Mimosa is beautiful - the rooms are individual, typically Sicilian in their decor - and extremely comfortable. The little kitchen area was well-stocked and equipped and it was such a delight to wake up to freshly-baked Sicilian pastries - that Jackie so kindly provided each morning. A little off the beaten track - but worth it for the peace, serenity and unique-ness of villa. You'll need a hire car but it's a very easy drive from Palermo Airport. Selinunte is just 10 mins drive away and lovely resort, which appeals mostly to Italians, and the temple ruins are a must see. The beach is great and the little fishing port lively. Every mouth-full of food we tasted here was exquisite - it did help that Jackie told us all the best restaurants to go to, as she's friendly with most locals!

Room Tip: Just ask Jackie which room Amanda & Sam stayed in (the middle one on the ground floor I think!)

Villa Mimosa is just a wonderful, relaxing place to stay. Located between olive and orange trees in a wonderful landscape. By car you can reach the temples of Selinunte or the beach in 15 minutes. There is just so much to visit and to enjoy for everyone. Jackie is such a wonderful, charming person. She perfectly cares for everything, fresh croissants and bread in the morning, guides through the city or to the market, she always helps you out with advices or maps, she´s just wonderful! The rooms are very comfortable, clean and each room has a very selected furniture. The hand made drawings give each room a very special and warm flair. We stayed at the Villa Mimosa for 2 weeks had wonderful dinners with Jackie and her friends Andrew and Margret. It was a wonderful time with a wonderful company and we will come back soon!

we stayed at Villa Mimosa en-route by car from our sons wedding in Gozo and immediately prior to catching the Palermo - Genoa ferry. Situated less than 2 hrs from Palermo it made the perfect place to stay in peace & quiet of the countryside yet only minutes from the local town

Jackie the owner, is English and lived here for 30 years so knows a lot about Sicily, is exceedingly friendy and has renovated the property since first aquiring the building as a ruin. it is set among olive groves and pines

She has 5 rooms (1 upstairs) all self catering but dinner with her & friends (& other guests) can be planned in advance. this we did and had a lovely evening chatting till midnight in the warm evening

Our room, the first was i believe slightly the largest and was well equiped for all the basic needs, plus a good sized bed, which is always welcome

We only stayed the one night but it would mak a good base to explore the western end of Sicily

WiFi is there but we couldn't access it so used jackie's laptop

The ambience and decor of Villa Mimosa are lovely and pretty... And the hostess, Jackie, was lovely and open hearted and warm and helpful. My husband and I stayed several nights while doing research in the area. Jackie enlisted several friends who went all over the countryside figuring out a little mystery we needed to resolve. Then there was the delicious dinner. Her great insights and advice about food and wine. The breakfast fixings were beyond complete. Jackie did absolutely everything to make us comfortable and we could not have loved the place more.

Jackie - who owned Villa Mimosa - went above and beyond our level of expectations when it came to 'service' and she really looked after us. We travelled to Castelvetrano on public transport from Trapani and she collected us, taxi-ed us about until we finally got round to renting a car.
We had a lovely time here and enjoyed it so much that we returned to spend the remainder of our holiday. Our apartment was set among a beautiful garden and every day Jackie brought us fresh croissants and bread to have with our breakfast. We originally planned to have Bed and Breakfast which was available to us but we chose to do self catering as she gave us such a well stocked fridge!
Villa Mimosa is set among Olive groves and is very relaxing, but should you want to visit the coast Marinella is the nearest town and is lovely. It is a typical working Sicilian fishing village with beaches, hotels and cafe's: and also next to the ruins of Selinunte.
Villa Mimosa comes highly recommended with a lovely hostess in Jackie.
