“My Favorite Place to Stay Ever!”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Loved, loved, loved Lough Rynn. Such a beautiful and quaint place to stay. Felt more like a bed & breakfast because of the charm and intimacy of the spaces. Many public rooms for private getaway for reading or just relaxing. Only had one night to stay here and wished we had booked a minimum of two. Would have been nice to just spend a day relaxing in the castle and walking around the grounds and down to the lake. The restaurant was excellent and no matter where you went the service was outstanding and every so welcoming. We had looked at other "castles" to stay in but they were very expensive and very large. The price point was very good and again the size was perfect for that warm and friendly atmosphere.

Unfortunately we only booked 1 night here...we all loved it & wished we could have stayed longer. Everything was top notch...the front desk staff, Aiden the Porter, the food (both dinner & breakfast), the waitstaff, the gardens & the lovely public rooms. All our rooms were different which was really fun to see...part of the charm of an old castle. They have done a wonderful job at Lough Rynn & we hope to return some day for a longer visit. Great place to relax!

Room Tip: The rooms in back overlook some of the garden, rooms in front look at part of the parking lot but al...

Stayed at Lough Rynn for the second time in two months, there in March but unfortunately had to cut short our two day stay. This time we managed the full two days.

The place is excellent, very peaceful, the food is wonder and the service still top notch. In particular the Austrian lady serving at dinner was very helpful and on the second night arranged for us to have dinner in the library in our own private dinning room.

The grounds are amazing and though we got lucky with the weather, it was a pleasure to stroll through them and down to the walled gardens.

The only draw back is there is no leisure facilities, though you can use Kilronan (42kms away).

Will be back.

Thanks guys.

Just popped in here today, and it really is a beautiful place. I look forward to returning for a few nights stay in this beautiful little castle. The gardens are magnificent, and the setting is fabulous. Lovely staff, splendid banquet room, overall beautiful place.

Attended a wedding at this hotel and stayed for 2 nights. Fantastic hotel and location. One of my friends remarked that the wedding was the best organised and best executed function he has ever attended and he is in the hospitality industry himself. Really luxurious rooms and bathrooms. Staff were really attentive and they are obviously very well trained and motivated. The grounds especially the walled garden are beautifully mantained.

Weekend break in February at this excellent hotel. Locally sourced and fresh food with the most wonderful breakfast. Comfortable rooms, beautifully furnished, and extensive walks around the grounds, particularly the walled garden which we must go back and see in the different seasons. Lots of little nooks and crannies within the castle to hide away for afternoon tea.

Room Tip: If you want to be away from the main castle (sometimes there are weddings there) ask for the lodge h...

My wife and I spent a lovely day at a wedding here recently and I could not praise this place enough. The management and floor staff were friendly, interested and superbly trained in their respective jobs - even though most were part-time or students. Not one sullen disinterested face to be seen anywhere despite the need to be on their toes for the duration of the day. The food was excellent and without fault and served with the rare combination of military precision and smiling faces
We stayed in one of the adjoining 'cottages' and this suited our family occasion. Just remember to bring everything you need if you want breakfast.
The grounds have an amazing selection of mature trees - the gigantic tulip tree is magnificent and probably is one of the best specimens of this rare species in the country.
