We stayed in Villa Cielo, Torre delle Stelle, 14 days in July 2014 and had a great time.
The villa has Italian charm, but was not quite to the standard we would expect: The aircon was not working, one of the toilets had a horrible stench and the cutlery etc. in the kitchen was really worn. I would compare the standard of the house to a 2 or 3 star apartment hotel. This needs upgrade for us to recommend it to others. The best part of the villa is the porch with a good view to the garden, where we enjoyed a lot of meals, playing board games etc.
The house however, is situated in a wonderful area only 100 meters from supermarket and a restaurant with a very good quality/price ratio. And best of all only 300 meters from a superb beach. We did visit some other beaches but none of them could beat ‘our own’. Only drawback was in the weekends were it was extremely crowded by local Italians.
Our general impression of Sardinia is that is an Italian island for Italians: Very few people speak English and often not much is done to accommodate tourists wanting to explore. This has its charm since it gives an ‘authentic’ experience, but sometimes we did miss some ‘tourist service’. From Torre delle Stelle there is a quite good connection with ARST busses to/from Cagliari and Villasimius, but a car is recommended if you want to see other parts of Sardinia. Driving around the island was easy with good roads.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, but would want better standard of the house to revisit.
