Beautiful food, plenty to choose from. Staff are efficeinet and polite, very busy on a wkend which can be disheartening at times if you have not booked.

After years of recommending this restaurant to family and friends we had our first bad occasion last Sunday. Our table for seven people booked well in advace for 6:30 pm was two small round tables pushed together and was totally unsuitable for a party of seven as I had my back turned to one guest and I couldn't converese with some of the others. We had three garlic breads to get us going but the main courses did not arrive for one and a quarter hours and then not all at once and it was barely warm. We had to start our meals before everyone was served so it didn't get any colder. During this time various drinks orders were forgotten and had to be chased up. We would have liked a desert but we had lost the will by now, so we just ordered five coffees and a hot chocolate which came 10 minutes later than the coffees.

Me and the missus, went for an impromptu Monday night meal (last minute offer from mother in law to have kids). A quick phone call to confirm that we could get a table was greeted with "certainly sir, no problem". Having had some nice takeaway pasta dishes from there before I was keen to 'eat in' for once. On arrival were welcomed into a stylish modern bar area and advised that the table would be ready shortly. The restaurant was busy with a pleasant soundtrack of chatter, accompanied by some tasteful and not overpowering Christmas tunes. after a short wait we were shown to our table. We ordered a tomato and garlic pizza bread to start, then having tried a few of the pasta dishes before, I opted for a rump steak cooked rare with a Diane sauce. The missus (very food fussy) opted for her usual modified vegetarian pasta. The steak was beautifully cooked (surprising how many restauraunts get this wrong), and the accompanying streamed seasonal veg and fries were also delicious. After our mains we were too full to tackle the sweet menu, but if they were half as good as the main, they would have been lovely!
Bill including two large glasses of wine and a large peroni came to less than £50 so decent value too. Service was polite, courteous and direct in that classic Italian style. Will definitely be back!

The food and service are excellent, with the emphasis on Italian, as one might expect. The atmosphere is often lively and can be quite noisy when there are large groups of young people but It is a very popular restaurant and you will need to book well in advance to get a table.
