“Didnt expect it in Pahalgam”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

We had the best trout masala at this quaint little place. Didn't expect a cafe like this in Pahalgam. The minus was that many items listed on the menu were unavailable and therefore, we had limited choice. Right next door is the sister concern - a veg cafe

“Just Exclusive!”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

The ambiance is so much at odds with the conventional looking eateries at Pahalgam....fusion of eclectic cosmopolitan eatery with funky decor....furry chairs, etc The small eatery has some 6-8 tables, & the cozy atmosphere is enhanced by wooden tables & piped music. Of-course the star of the restaurant is the food...the Trout dishes are unique & fresh...we had tandoori Trout with Naans, Grilled Trout with veges...portions were ok & the experience was exclusive.

“Got to be one of the best places to have trout in India”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Just had a fantastic dinner at the Trout Beat, Pahalgam. The fish was fresh, the ambiance warm and the cooking sublime. Some wine would have been perfect. But just the fish itself is totally worth it :)

“Awesome trout preparations”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

This place is heaven for trout lovers. Located in the main market of Pahalgam, this joint is a part of Hotel Pahalgam with a separate entry from outside. We visited it twice during our recent visit to Kashmir and were quite satisfied on both occasions.
We tried Trout Mueniere, Trout Masala and Trout Tandoori- all the preparations were very good. The items listed on their menu other than trout are not available. The staff was polite and courteous. With a little bit of convincing, we were able to get them to serve us items from the neighbouring Cafe Log Inn. The Vegetable Pizza and Carrot Cake were lip smacking.
The ambience is very nice and one feels as if one is sitting in a European Cafe. The trout preparations cost around Rs. 600/- inclusive of taxes. The joint closes at 9 PM sharp so one has to arrive early to avoid disappointment of being turned back.
