“Excellent stay in Provence”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Never wrote a review on this B & B before for very selfish reasons. I want to be able to get a room This was I believe my fourth time staying there, found it quite by accident and was surprised that Rick Sleeves had found it before me. Monique and John have done a tremendous job converting an old farmhouse into a Chambre D'Hote. John is ex-British and quite a character, very creative and worked as a cowboy in the Carmague. Follow his advice on where to go for a "ballade" . Monique is also a great person and made me laugh because she was upset at the one poor review that is still on this site despite her attempts to regress that. Point is they have no kids and there are several Ecole Buissoniere's in France. Theirs is in Buisson, Provence. Grea place with easy access to Vaison La Romaine, Mt Ventoux and some of the best wines in Francet

Bucolic setting amongst the vineyards. Picturesque perfect. Beautiful authentic rooms with modern updates. Owner/Innkeeper John is a perfect host and kept us quite entertained.. he also provided us with a plentiful breakfast each morning. If you are looking for adventures, his vast knowledge of the region provided excellent directions. We originally planned to stay two nights.. ended up saying four!! Would have loved to stayed longer. We will be back and will bring along others.. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely and quite

My bride (of 33 years) and I stayed here 4 nights in late October. A wonderful B&B with wonderful hosts. John is quite the character! What we particularly enjoyed was "cocktail hour" with John and sometimes Monique. A warm fire, soft jazz on the stereo, wine and conversation with the other guests. John and Monique have passable english for storytelling. This B&B has an outside kitchen to cook your own meal, if interested, and a simple garden to enjoy the colors and smells of Provence! Great location!

My daughter and I spent a magical time at this lovely B and B. John and Monique could not have been more helpful and charming and my daughter ran with their dog Arsenne in the morning through the vineyards...The best best place we stayed and that includes Paris, St Emillion, Cassis and more. John built a welcoming fire in the fireplace and guests gathered and drank wine and his homemade specialties. Monique helped me navigate from there back to Paris thank goodness. And we would never have known about the sheep festival in Brandt! What an incredible view and town! The Cote du Rhone was perfect because of this wonderful spot!

We stayed at the beautiful L'ecole Buissionniere in Mid-May during a three week trip thru France. The five nights spent there surpassed all the others, including Paris! John and Monique's lovely B&B was all that we had imagined and more. Although it was not warm enough for a swim, we sat by the pool, drinking wine and gazing at the vineyard beyond the house many evenings before heading out for dinner. Our room was absolutely enormous, with a king size bed, two lovely antique wardrobes for putting clothes away, a window that opened and looked over the yard and best of all, a HUGE bathroom with tub, shower and another window looking into the yard. Our hosts we so friendly and helpful, providing a delicious breakfast that was included in the room price and considerably better than any "petite dejuner" you would spend 9euro on in a town. John's years of restaurant experience shine through with his omelets and fruit compotes and homemade jams. It was fun to sit around in the evening and chat with other guests and hear what others had done during the day, and places we hadn't thought of visiting. They are dog friendly, and we met the most wonderful french black lab while we were there! We look forward to a return visit - you MUST STAY HERE!!! It's absolutely the best!

Room Tip: It doesn't matter which room you have . . . . they are all beautiful and comfy!

My recent stay at L'Ecole Buissonniere was wonderful. Although the weather was not at its peak the first few days, the stay was great. Monique and John were the perfect hosts explaining the area, giving directions, helping with dinner reservations and simply offering great hospitality. The room was large, clean and quiet with great views. The breakfasts were delicieux!! Conversations with the other guests were most enjoyable...Susan and David were such a pleasure to meet. I will definitely recommend L'Ecole Buissonniere to anyone I know going to Provence. Thank you John and Monique for a wonderful time!

We stayed at L’Ecole Buissionaire in early October 2011, and enjoyed our time at this small, restored estate in the wine country of Provence. The proprietor, John, was friendly and helpful, letting us choose from the three rooms available. We chose the room with a balcony view out the rear, which overlooks the vineyards, it was beautiful. The breakfasts were ample, with a great selection of bread and jam, pastries, granola, eggs cooked to order, fruit juice, and cheese. John is a fountain of knowledge about the area, offering great suggestions on itineraries, and very helpful in picking both destinations and routes to different sights. He was very generous, printing maps that were helpful when the Michelin Guide wasn’t specific enough, even noting which places to park most easily. We stayed for 3 days, and found this to be a relaxing, quiet, and off-the-beaten-path place to stay. There are stairs leading up to all of the guest rooms, no elevator, so pack lightly or plan on lugging your bags up and down a flight of stairs!

Room Tip: Pick a room with a north facing window, so you have a view of the vineyard.
