the thing that spoils this beach, dog owners let their dogs run freely and over you . We visited in February so cannot comment about any facilites that are available in the summer

Lovely beach just a short train ride from the centre of Barcelona. Very clean with some nice restaurants along the front. Lovely views from the pier. Ideal place for walks or runners.

I'm watching great surf right now, from Hotel Miramar, on a dog friendly beach, with awesome beach clubs where you can eat great food, drink whatever, & then learn to sail, surf, paddle board, or just relax in the sun.

Why go to the dirty beach in Barcelona, when this beach is so nice. This beach is easily accessible from Barcelona via the metro. Line 2 the end of the line and a short walk. Just ask anybody when you come out of the metro station " which way is La Playa". The beach is clean and there are many local shops and places to eat near by.

Badalona Beach is probably better than the Barcelona Beach considering that it is just 20 mins by the train and 25 mins by metro. The train leaves you right in front of the beach while the Badalona metro is a 7-8 mins walk to the beach. Compared to the hugely crowded and touristic Barcelona Beach, this is more serene, peaceful, less crowded, nice little play areas for the children and also has its own view-point called Pont Del Petroli. If you would like to wake up right in front of the beach, then there are some decent beach facing hotels here and nice service and shared apartments in this area with less than 5 mins walk to the beach. There are some decent restaurants offering local cuisine and flavour and of-course the KFC and McDonanlds. There are also couple of really nice shopping streets for the shopaholics. I would prefer Badalona anyday compared to Barcelona.
