Rooms are ok. Bedsheets and pillows are disgusting so take out your sleeping bag and pull it over the bed.

The neighbourhood is well away from downtown Barcelona (30 min bike ride. 20 min train). Kindof a sketchy unsafe urban feel, where you don't want to find yourself lost by yourself or at nighttime at all. The taxi driver was even surprised when he heard the directions and warned us against getting mugged. The metro station is right across the street, however (nice plus).

The place inside looks much more like a US college dorm than a place to lodge. Complete with young students in pajamas everywhere, communal spaces with soda and snack machines, a room of computers with slow internet where only two of them actually work, a ping pong table and some couches. Breakfast is cereal, toast, and coffee.

I guess it's great if all of this is your cup of tea and you like meeting hungover college students from all around the world traveling on their parent's paychecks and complaining about not getting enough money for partying. It's also as dirty as.. well.. and average party dorm. Enough said.

First of all, I visited this site before I decided to pick this hostel and everything seemed okay. But when we arrived I felt like in a prison. Our room was not on the street side, we saw only a huge concrete building with no windows, it was a sport court only 10 meters from our window and they played basketball every night until 11 pm! It was very noisy but not as much as the kindergarten with always crying and shouting infants right next to the hostel, it was horrible especially in the morning. The room was full of dead bugs on the walls, the bathroom dor was a thin wall that you can push right and left with no lock, there was no hair dryer even at the reception. The internet was poor, the breakfast was cereal every single day. It was not a problem to get to the center of Barcelona, I checked a map before so I knew where the hostel was located. This is my advice to all the people complaining about it after they arrived to the hostel.

Room Tip: Ask for street side.

Though it is a bit out of the center of Barcelona (about 20 minutes with the underground) it is easily accessible, even during the night. There are night busses to Barcelona and to the airport. On the plus side there is a beach within 5 minutes walking distance. The free breakfast is very basic, but hey it's free! The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and you could even borrow soap and shampoo if you forgot to bring some. The staff were always willing to help and there was a lot of room to socialize with other guests if you wanted to. I highly recommend this hostel!

I stayed here with my husband a couple of weeks ago and I was really impressed at how easy it was to get to from the city centre. The hostel literally across the road from the metro stop and the map on the website was spot on. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff who showed all the key places like supermarket and beach etc on the map.

I would definitely recommend this place to those who want to escape the busy crowds of Barcelona and are looking for a mix of city culture and beach time.

We were a couple and stayed there for 7 nights. We got a huge private room but with four beds unless we asked for a private room with a double bed. Our room faced the street, seemed not busy but noisy at early morning, even when closing the window we heard the noise. We asked for replacement and staff found other room for us. A/C working great. The private shower is large but the water was splashed out and we had to put a towel on the floor, staff bring us Wiper and offered to clean it. Design of the hostel is really cool. There are cool sofas outside and a table tennis. Meager breakfast (bread, butter, jam, cereal and hot drinks) and you can get more groceries from the supermarket and bring them to breakfast. You can take more bread without a problem if you want. food and cups had run out and were put quickly by the staff but sometimes have to look for them to fill what is missing. Tables inside, where breakfast is, are very large and therefore very good to meet other people and even nice to sit there in the evening. Staff is very smiling and very helpful but sometimes disappear in the middle of the day or night. You can ring the bell when they take the phone with them and they will come. The atmosphere is very good. There were a lot of travelers there and we always sat in the evening and meet people. There are three computers that you can surf the internet for free. There is a very cheap supermarket just 4 min walk, less than a minute walk to the Pep Ventura Metro station and 20 min metro ride to the center of Barcelona (bit frustrating after a few days). The kitchen has two refrigerators for storage the food that you buy. It is reasonably and clean, but has little stinky smell and very old cooking tools. There is a paella and sangria dinner at 9 euros per person (two days a week), good experience and very delicious. Security is good, the rooms and the main entrance open only with a card room.
In summary we were very pleased from the hostel and had good memories from there. I will come back because what i wrote and because of the cheap price. Maybe is better to sleep there for few days and then to move to other place in the center of Barcelona.

Room Tip: Ask for room that not face the street.

This hostel is about a 30 - 40 minute metro journey from the centre of Barcelona, so if your looking to stay right in the middle of it all this isnt the place for you. However it is less than a minutes walk from a metro station so completely fine if you dont mind that, which we didnt. We found it to be a very friendly, welcoming hostel, with lots of opportunity to meet other travellers and a kitchen section to cook your own food. We had a private room with ensuite, and it was pretty basic, nothing fancy and the shower is one where you have to press it every 2 mins or so, but we felt safe here and found it to be a very lively friendly atmosphere. The real selling point for us was the beach that is a 5 -10 minute walk, - a lovely beach if not slightly nudisty. All in all we found this place to be a lovely little stay away from the hustle and bustle of main barcelona, because of the closeness of the metro station it is in a good location and i would highly recommend it to travellers looking to make some new friends.

Stayed in a twin room, the room was relatively average, the air-con thankfully worked it's wonders as it was really hot. The bathroom is ok, the shower is push-button and it gets pretty steamed up. Breakfast is alright, fills the gap and the staff were friendly and helpful.
It is pretty out of the centre of Barcelona takes a little ride on the metro but it's easy to navigate and you can get to anywhere.
The beach is about 10 minutes away and really nice and hasn't been spoilt with tacky tourist things.
It's a good hostel to stay at if you're just going to use it as a base for exploring Barcelona and is a decent place to rest your head at the end of the day.
