Hotel Fira Congress

This hotel is trying to hard, with this location near all expos and congresses they need to step up.
The rooms are big but does not use the space right. The room feels could and not friendly. Chairs and beds are hard and not very good. Plus for great food and very nice staff.

As a hotel is nice a little far away from the town, never mentioned that the hotel is in the exhibition area , good and clean but the service bad was not enough staff to attend and they were strangling

A good, modern hotel 2 minutes from the giant Fira exhibition centre. Rooms offer a great view towards Barcelona, but are over stylish in terms of unfathomable lighting, weird bathroom and no desk. The Wi-Fi internet connection is ‘variable’.
The people at reception are very helpful, as are the bar staff. However, the quality of the food in the restaurant is generally below the hotel’s 4 star rating – best avoided, although the choice close by is limited to one other hotel – which on the single occasion we tried it was good.
While the hotel offers an airport pickup and drop-off service, its location is only any use if you have business in this area. It’s a €15+ taxi ride into the centre, and the surrounding area – which is an industrial estate, has absolutely nothing to offer.
But, with this in mind, it remains an OK hotel.

Conveniently located across the street from the convention center, ideal for conventions but far from the main attractions in Barcelona.
The rooms are of very modern design but not on the practical side.. E.g. There's a coffee table, but no desk to work on; the TV is Bang & Olfson, but was difficult to operate and had 2 remotes; and , not one English speaking channel; reading lamps above the bed were halogen and became very hot..

A very good hotel, in a business area. Far away from the central part but with a good shuttle service to and from Plazza Espana. A free pick-up from the airpoort, so make sure you book it in advance. Rooms are clean but a little bit strange bathroom - from the modern no-doors ones, not much privicy. Very bad Internet connection!

This is a quite and bit far from central city area. Rooms were clean and tidy. Advantage of staying here is close to airport and they provide free pickup and drop. They provide a pick up and drop to Espana, a main tourist place. It is close to a shopping mall but not a great one.

Room Tip: Ask for city view rooms. Higher floors are better but unfortunately it's only supreme rooms. I s...

We stayed at the Fira Congress, Barcelona (room only) for 3 nights over the new year.
Airport transfer: quick and easy. Spanish lady at the Tourist Information desk at the airport offered to call and arrange it with the hotel for us and it came around 25 mins later.

Staff: Arrived 11.30am (checkin time was 3pm) but they offered us early check in. One evening,we had a drink at the bar. Costly at 24 euros for 2 gin and tonics, but barman was great.

Room: Very nice, clean, quiet. Wifi for some reason could only be found in the hallway and not the room. We really liked the modern amenities and had an amazing view of the city.

Bathroom: Shower gel and shampoos were not good quality, so I was glad to have brought my own. Sinks had toothbrush/paste kits, razor and foam kits which were a nice touch. Shower was brilliant and bathroom was generally well designed and modern.

Location: Hotel is 1 min walk from metro station. Yes the hotel is out of town, but 3 metro stops on the L8 (pink) line to Espanya, which is where the Magic Fountain, MNAC and Olympic Park are. Also, very easy to get to other touristy areas and with the T8 card (around 9 euros) you can do 10 metro trips. The cards can also be shared/ do not expire, so are great value for a holiday.
The hotel has a shuttle every hour into Espanya, which we once tried to hop on as we were leaving the hotel. The driver told us to get on, which we then did...however, we were rudely and embarrassingly told by two not-so-nice guests and a staff member that we'd have to get off as we hadn't pre-booked! Fair enough, but a bit disappointing as we'd asked the day before and they said no we wouldn't have to book.

Is this hotel good for tourists? From my experience, yes, but only if you are willing to take advantage of transport links. We really enjoyed getting on the metro and finding our way around the city :)

Room Tip: our 8th floor room facing conference centre had an amazing view.
