“An interesting hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Unusual location but proved to be convenient for our trip. Very near airport, near the trains and a short taxi ride into town.

You can't miss the hotel - an unusual and huge red tower...

Very comfortable and very modern. Food was ok, good bar and engaging bar staff!

Breakfast a bit of a mission - they seemed to have a huge Chinese tour on when we were there and they don't seem to operate to European levels of politeness when it comes to queues and waiting your turn!

Overall a lovely weekend and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This place is ideal when you visit the fira (exhibition) but do not try to get served at the hotel bar. Staff is most ignorant - they look at you but they do not serve you.
I booked a non-smoking room but the toilet was full of smoke. Poor ventilation. Why does the cleaning staff not recoginze this and why is this room given to a non-smoking cusotmer? I assume poor management as in the bar. This was my last stay in this hotel for sure

We stayed here prior to catching a flight from Barcelona to the UK. The hotel is stylish, modern and with great views. The rooms are designer with everything you need. Bed was super comfortable and just what I needed after a 7 hour drive. The secure parking under the hotel is a great bonus with direct access to the reception. The staff were helpful and courteous and smartly turned out. We would definitely return and use it as a base for exploring the city.

My wife and I attended an Exhibition held for 4 days at the Fira Gran Via. This hotel is a 3 minute pleasant walk to the event. We came a day early and explored the city using the train line beside the hotel, about 3 minutes walk on the opposite direction. This is the Europa Station where we purchased T10 tickets for Euro 9.80 or less than 1 Euro per trip. We actually used it more than 10 times because connections within 1.5 hours are free. Example is when we used bus L94 and bus L95 that stopped near the hotel in front of IKEA. The last stop is at Catalunya Plaza where we got Bus 55 to Montjuic Park. At Plaza Espanya, the last train stop from Europa Station, Bus 150 will take you to the Monjuic Castle via the famous Museo National Artes Catalan (MNAC).
The reception is always manned with pleasant staff who are very kind to give directions to town, or wherever you wish to go using the train and bus. The free wifi was most convenient allowing contact with home and also to check transport routes on the very good TMB website. The view from our room 1303 was beautiful especially at night when the lights of Barcelona is visible. The rooms were very clean with very clean sheets and good amenities. A plug in kettle for boiling water and making tea / coffeee would have made the room amenities complete. Oh well you cant have it all.
Certainly a good hotel to recommend to friends. It was also reasonably priced at less than Euro 140/day including buffet breakfast for 2. Better to book directly at the hotel's website.

Room Tip: The higher floors have better views.

If you are in town for an event in the Barcelona Fira this is the place for you.
Rooms are a bit small but well designed to make the most of them.
Everything is well organized and handy (lights, safe, drawers, etc).
The room is a round structure, which means all rooms have a great view!
Rooms are very quiet and clean.
Breakfast is very rich in offering.
The bed/pillows are a small drawback and not so conferrable (wish for a larger selection of pillows).
Internet access is free, but terribly slow to unusable - I guess since the hotel was fully crowded for the mobile-world-congress.
The hotel is 3min walk from a train-station that takes you into Plaza-Espania (3 stops) and from there into the popular metro lines. Mind that this train stops at 12PM.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with any question.

This hotel is a beautiful piece of Barcelona architecture across the street from the Fira convention center. The location is excellent and easy to get pretty much anywhere from the hotel by metro. The whole hotel is artsy, upbeat and has many above average features. Now for the bad parts...my stay was over $4000 (US) for 5 nights, in a basic single room. Granted this was due to the proximity to the Fira, during Moble World Congress, but still, crazy expensive. Also, anytime the wind blows, the beautiful architecture turns into a very negative experience as the red exterior covering of the hotel shakes and rattles VERY loudly and makes sleeping near impossible without earplugs. I cannot highly recommend this hotel, even though it has a lot going for it.

We chose this hotel because of its looks and location for a summer vacation, even though it's not really close to the sea coast. However, thanks to the great rail and metro network of Barcelona, going even to one of the remote beaches like Mataro or Sitges takes just over an hour in comfortable and frequently running trains.

On the inside the hotel is just as good as seen from outside - new, modern and extremely clean rooms with comfortable beds, very nice bathrooms and simple but beautiful design. Service was also great while practically seamless.

Public transport tip: Bus #46 stops just near the Europa/Fira train station and connects the hotel to the airport in 20/30 minutes for Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 respectively. Even during the whole night you have buses every 20 minutes - N16 to Terminal 2 and N17 to Terminal 1. In the other direction all these buses connect you to Barcelona city center - Placa Espanya. Of course, the train network makes even more connections, but buses are also very convenient, especially at night.

Room Tip: The higher - the better. But in any case, don't rely there won't be mosquitoes, so you'd...
