“Iconic building pleasurable stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

My husband and I stayed here during the IAAF World Junior Championships. The hotel is very modern and you are immediately struck by the iconic design. It is pristinely clean and the staff are very helpful and obliging. As it is about 200m from the metro station (Europa Fira) it made it very easy to get around. It is situated in the commercial district so apart from the massive Ikea there is nothing around to amuse yourself with in the evening but it really does not matter because of the proximity of transport and the ease with which you can get around. It's about 8 minutes from the airport by taxi and you can be at Espanya station in about 5 minutes. Excellent. Room service was impecable - would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Excellent view from the 19th Floor!

I stay here whenever I go to Barcelona. Admittedly, much of my work takes me to the area around Barcelona, so it is excellent to have such a good hotel on the border of town: saves me lots of time when going to meetings outside Barcelona, yet it's an easy subway trip away from the center of the city! The rooms are truly excellent (the view!), superb price/quality. Staff are friendly, and the whole places breathes modernity, cleanliness and comfort. Also, for business, it helps that the hotel has multiple meeting rooms. If you are attending a trade fair, prices are higher but the location is priceless. Food is OK, and I agree internet could be a lot faster.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view! The rooms facing the sea have better views, the others te...

The hotel is brilliant. Clean and extremely comfortable. However it will take you a good 30 mins to travel to the beach and 20 mins to plaza Catalonia. The rooms and staff were perfect though! Take the number 46 from the airport and ask to be dropped off at ikea. Also the night buses run after 12pm and are bang on time to take you home from plaza espanya and Catalonia (n15 and n17). Word of warning though, don't bother buying water from the hotel....we were desperate and they ripped us off, 4 euros.

This is a very modern hotel with many stylist design features thoughout.
It seems that the hotel is geared more towards business clientele as it has many meeting and conference rooms. Free wifi is available thoughout the hotel.
The hotel lobby is large with very high ceiling and generally black and some red decor. Therefore to some people the lobby may appear quite cold, uninviting and inanimate.
However the hotel staff are quite helpful and friendly. The bedrooms are nice, bright, clean and very comfortable.
The hotel is located in a new business area away from the centre of the city. It is surrounded with many office towers and wide empty spaces. Although there is a large shopping complex nearby, the surrounding area is quite deserted even during the day.
The hotel is however quite handy for public transport. With bus and metro stations a few minutes' walk away, you can be in the Placa de Catalunya well within 30 minutes or so.
If you are looking for a hotel in a busy business district with many souvenir shops, tapas bars, gourmet cafes or restaurants or for night time enjoyment then this is not a hotel for you.
However if, after a hectic day sight-seeing and/or shopping, you are looking for some nice, quiet, comfortable retreat that is not too far from the city centre to wind down then none can beat this hotel.

Me and my partner stayed here for a week and it was easy to find (Number 46 bus from El Prat Airport drops you off outside and only costs around £5, better than the £25 taxi option) Upon arrival and throughout our stay the staff were extremely helpful and polite, the room was spotless and very modern looking, there is a safe which is free of charge to use and a fridge also, the shower was effectively a wet room...huge. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty and I would recommend it highly (It's a banquet of continental and cooked food with pastries and fresh fruit and cereal) The gym and sauna were an added bonus. There is a massive shopping centre around the corner called the Gran Via 2 and is 5 mins walk and they have a supermarket and restaurants. Ideal location and 5mins walk to the underground station

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front of the hotel have a better view

Porta Fira its a nice hotel, new, comfortable with great staff and conviniently situated if you want to be very close to Barcelona. Two blocks form hotel you ve got the bus stop and with L94 for 2 euros you ll be in Plaza Catalunia in 15 minutes.
The advantage in staying at Porta Fira is that if you want to explore the coast ( Stiges and other places) you' ve also have good public transportation very close and to the airport also ( a taxi form there to the airport is around 15 / 20 euros)

Theres no much activity around the hotel, although you've got a comercial area with many stores and some places to eat (Gran Via Mall ) at nigh its quiet a desert so the area is very calm, and the rooms are soundproof , so you wont have problems to rest

Breakfast has a huge varity of options as in many 4 stars and they also include local varitions of
sauseges and ham.

Room Tip: ask for room facing Mont Juic and in the levesl 16 / 20 to enjoy the view

We stayed here for 4 nights in August, clean contempory building. Staff were fantastic especially as we dont speak Spanish. Huge entrance foyer, with seating area and bar, outside terrace for sitting. Walking Distance to the train for evenings at the City Centre. Lovely local Bratwusrt Restaurant round the corner at the Shopping Mall/ Cinema complex. We bought a 4 day train pass and hopped on and off trains as needed. small fridge in room with Variety of Bar items but were Pricey. We paid a bargain price and were really pleased with the Quality of the Hotel. Would definitely stay again.
