located like somewhere in the middle of a Savannah, this hotel really surpirses you with its openness to nature and the way it has been made. you can see miles of the savana, the best part is the way it opens into them , without any boundaries or anything.
beautifully designed and makes you feel so close to nature. the spa is another very unique and a very good feature for this hotel.
Thank you for the lovely stay

My family and I stayed at the Lodge for 3 days this January and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The Lodge itself is set in a beautiful location, and our chalet was facing the stunning lake which was a fanastic sight in the mornings. We got to know the GM, Gazali, on a personal basis and found how much of a warm hearted individual he is, and the warmth and kindness he generates radiated through all his staff and their friendly, smiling faces. Every single member of staff we got to know were all so lovely and attentive, which lifted the spirits of the hotel even more. My sister and I got to know the head chefs, Jeevindra and Nimal, and they let us pretend to be mini chocolatiers for the morning and taught us how to make several chocolate decorations and macaroons which was a really enjoyable experience. I looked forward to every meal as the chefs prepared a delicious spread - in particular, I really loved Nimal's homemade ice cream, cookies and truffles! The hotel is beautifully kept and the animals are still in their natural, undisturbed habitat, which is great to see. Without reservation, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any family or couple as it is perfect for both and will most certainly be coming back again.

This is a hotel where you can enjoy a family trip in its best

1. Welcome was excellent and front desk staff is very helpful and quick.
2. The bungalow you are getting is luxurious with more space
3. Food was excellent, but did not had a variety of foods.
4. This is a big hotel where you have the space to enjoy throughout the day.
5. Wind comes through the lake is pretty cool and feel the pleasure of nature.

But make sure you close your door in the bungalow as hundreds of monkeys stayed around there.

This hotel, organised as a collection of chalets and bungalows around the restaurant, lake and communal areas, was a delight to stay in. Although overall it is quite large - the restaurant is vast and can get quite full - it has a lovely intimate feel. We stayed five nights over the New Year, and felt we knew many of the staff personally by the time we left. Our room boy was so attentive, it was almost impossible to leave the room for five minutes without it having a make-over before we returned. The setting is lovely, although we didn't really see it in the daytime - there is too much else to do in the area. Habarana is within easy reach of all Sri Lanka's "Cultural Triangle": Anurhadapura, Polonnaruwa, Ritigala, Sigiriya, Mihintale, Dambulla caves etc etc - not forgetting the Hurulu wildlife park - elephants galore - so no shortage of attractions in the area! If you want to see central Sri Lanka, this is an ideal base to do it from..

To celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary we stayed for four nights in one of the delightful bungalows overlooking the lake, which was heavenly. The staff couldn't have been more helpful Particularly the Restaurant and Bar Manager Dhinuka who organised a romantic candlelit dinner for us at a table by the lake Also received a cooking lesson in the wonderful kitchens with award winning chef Jeevendra.
So much wildlife to see including monkeys and egrets in the gardens. Pay a visit to their organic garden which supplies the kitchens and spend a tranquil hour in the treehouse. We know where we are going back to for our 30th Anniversary! Well, done also to General Manager Ghazzali who has been in charge of the renovations.

Room Tip: rooms away from the restaurant and bar are quieter but a longer walk. ~We liked to be more secluded...

We stayed here for 2 nights and in fact were transferred from the hotel next door due to a problem with our room. The manager was very accommodating but the rest of the staff seemed very disorganized especially at dinner. The hotel is very large and for us too big. It was only half full when we arrived and even then you had to queue if you wanted freshly cooked food which meant you were not eating together. The evening buffet was very mediocre although the dessert selection was excellent. The choice at breakfast was also rather good.
We had a detached bungalow that was spacious and a big bathroom with everything we needed. It had a terrace outside but your view from most of the rooms here is of other bungalows and it is almost like a small housing estate. Personally we felt it lacked atmosphere and was not a particularly relaxing hotel. Even the pool is right in front of the bar and restaurant.
And beware, I don't know if they were all like it but our room boy, who did a very good job was very aggressive in wanting to be tipped!

Room Tip: Try and get one with a view of the lake.

What a beautiful place to stay, the hotel excellent, staff friendly, courteous and nothing too much bother. Our bungalow was lovely, big, airy and well maintained. The meals, restaurant. very good and again the service very good.
A good place to stay to explore Sri Lanka and the wildlife amazing. The monkeys wondering the hotel grounds made the experience even more special.
We had a wonderful time and the lodge made it even more special, really recommend this hotel.
