I visited the elephant watch hut with my family in April 2019. We were accompanied by our friend and stayed for one night.
My kids really loved the back to nature experience they had during our stay.
The treehouse rooms were very clean and well equipped with the essential items to guarantee comfort during the stay. In addition to the beds, mosquito nets, shutters, small ice box, and a fan were also available.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Hot water pots near the hummocks made it easy to enjoy my hot drink whenever I wanted, we tried the local food that was prepared for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it was just great!
We all were fascinated by seeing the peacock walking around us, listening to the varied birds sounds, and the most amazing of all was the night safari where we observed wild elephants walking around freely. We also were lucky to hear and see elephants from our treehouse balconies coming to walk around the watch hut!
Enjoying watching the dark sky and it’s glittering stars in the middle of the night, and observing the sunrise in an enchanting quite atmosphere in the morning, was really a priceless experience.
Strongly recommend for couples romantic stay, or for family exploitation trip.
Big thanks for my friend and all staff there for their efforts to make our stay remarkable!

Dear Ghana Thank you very much and so happy to see that you could spent the time with your kids in a tropical forest.

Our family of four spent two nights at Elephant Watch Hut. It was such a fantastic way to start our fortnight Sri Lankan holiday. Treetop open-air rooms, serenity of rural village environment and relaxing slow pace. We didn’t have the pleasure of seeing elephants visit the site, but witnessed the garden they had feasted on the night before we arrived! Welcoming, attentive staff and delicious breakfast and dinners prepared for us. Early morning walk to Pidurangala rock temple, overlooking more famous Sigiriya. Stunning vistas. Three hour cycle around local villages. Enjoyed a refreshing swim in the ‘pool/water tank’ and ventured on an afternoon Jeep ride through Minneriya National Park where we were privileged to see dozens of wild Sri Lankan elephants in their family groups. Just Magic xxxx

Amazing experience, staying in a watch hut up in the tree, seeing an elephant at 2am close to the bottom of our ladder. Brilliant staff, great food, great booking and comms. Thanks Buddy, Indiga & team.

My little nephew is fascinated by Elephants and this property was recommended by a friend who said the name says it all.

It was absolute euphoria! We stayed for 2 nights and were extremely lucky to see three Elephants just roaming within the precincts of the property. This property is managed by the villagers including the meals cooked by them which was delicious. They dont speak English, however one of them did understand and was able to assist us. This was an experience too.

It was a typical wild and nature experience. Worth the money at all costs for tranquility.

I will also recommend the Jeep safari and cycling tours & activities available handled by the boys working here.

We did one night here, but I’m not sure I could have done another.
It’s an amazing and unique idea to sleep up in trees houses with nature all around you and elephants and waking up to a tropical dawn chorus.
We heard an elephant chomping loudly behind us but we never actually saw one.
I think this place reminded me too much of our African camping days where it was dark and sometimes soaking wet and muddy and you had to balance a torch whilst you used the toilet in the shed. There’s not much to do here either. Don’t get me wrong, places like this are amazing but on this occasion, just an average review for me.
