We'd heard about Peat's Bite and managed to get a cancellation whilst holidaying in The Hawkesbury. We anchored our chartered boat outside the restaurant and were picked up by a jolly bloke just after midday and taken to the door by tinnie. When I say door, I mean little marina that leads to a little wooden bridge over to a beautiful tropical garden with a large pavilion style building set for lunch for around 100 covers. We were immediately greeted with a rum based cocktail and the kids ran off to play with the giant chess set and waterside swimming pool. We then spent the next 6 hours! being wined and dined and entertained the the grand matriarch with show tunes and warm interactions with the crowd. It's a set menu in a beyond beautiful location. The staff are exemplary and the whole experience is like a surreal and lovely dream. The food was very good, not mind-blowing, but the warmth of the family that run the place and the setting more than make up of this. It's a little bit expensive; but then it's a very special place for special occasions. We all loved it.
