“Will stay again.”
Reviewed December 8, 2010

Very nice hotel. Price was great. Location was very convenient. The owners were super nice and care about us. I wrote them an email to ask for their help to reserve a table for a restaurant 7 days before my stay. The owner's wife booked the restaurant for me. Suggested me to walk to the restaurant as it was very difficult to find parking space. In fact, I found out that it was IMPOSSIBLE to find a parking space. Thanks for your suggestion. I took only 10 mins to walk there. I was so happy to choose to stay in this hotel. You are the best!

Clean and confortable the hotel is a very good alternative when staying in the area. Has closed parking and free wifi. The breakfast buffet is the only thing I did not like: to little and to poor. The hotel is not far from good restaurants.

We went to stay in this hotel because it was so close to the TGV station for a day trip to Aix-en-Provence. Thinking it was just sort of in the middle of nowhere, it turns out its in a beautiful little town called Tournon, which is a hidden gem! The hotel itself was perfect, air conditioned rooms after a hot drive with broken air con in the car! The rooms were very comfortable, had everything we needed. The staff were also extremely helpful and friendly, giving us town maps, restaurant reccommendations and more. I would thoroughly reccommend this hotel to anybody.

I first visited the hotel three years ago. At the time I was on my own. This time my wife and I took our children on a several country business trip. On our travels we had to visit my vendor in Tain L'Hermitage, just across the bridge. The welcome to the hotel was,as with my first visit, warm and inviting. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Sandra, the wife of the owner whose name I cannot remember, was helpful to the point of us feeling as though we were taking advantage of her good nature. We were glad to have made the decision to stay with them and will return the next time we make the trip. Do not hesitate to stay there.

We needed an overnight stop. It was hot, we had driven for hours, were fatigued and decided we had to rest for the night. We consulted our hotel guide book and chose this one on the basis of price and location - we knew there were restaurants in Tournon. With that frame of mind, it was such a relief to get an efficient, friendly welcome, easy (free) parking and, for the price, a really very comfortable air conditioned room. It had all tha facilities for the weary traveller: good comfy beds, a spacious bathroom, TV, free Wi-Fi and quiet efficient aircon. There is a bar, which we didn't try, but it seemed a bit on the quiet side. The hotel is sited in a residential area away from the town centre.
There is a lively strip of restaurants and bars beside the Rhone near the town centre of Tournon-sur-Rhone (to give it its full title), this is about 1.4kms away, which for some would be a welcome stroll, but for others, too far away.
Breakfast was a perfectly acceptable repast of fruit juice, breads and croissants and coffee.
This was our first stay in an Inter Hotel, and we were very satisfied indeed.

The hotel is an independent hotel but integrated in the « Inter Hotel » chain (2** or 3***) . The owners did renovate it: first the rooms and now only the public places need some refreshment in style, however the slightly outdate area is absolutely acceptable. The building is situated in a garden. There is a private parking closed during the night but guests can always enter with an access code.

The hotel is situated at a few km from that major A7 highway connecting the north with the south (midi) of France. For Dutch, Belgians and residents of Northern France it a a common distance for a stop over on the way down. Also some business people use the hotel. The restaurant is not always open in the summer season, but the centre of Tournon is at walking distance. You really don’t need your car. There plenty of restaurants are available.

The rooms have been renovated in quite a nice style. They are not small , have a nice bathroom with bath and shower and have hairdryer. A flat screen television is available. Yes the rooms are nice and clean.

There is an elevator.

Breakfast is in buffet style. Nice choice certainly to French norms.

Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Conclusions:

- Positive is certainly that the rooms completely renovated and nice. Buffet breakfast. Also the geographical situation close to the A7 highway is an asset.
- Negative, well if I have to find something??? Some public areas, which are a little outdated? The owner knows it and talks openly about his plans, so… Anyway certainly not a “show stopper!

Can recommend this hotel without problem.

You come across these sorts of hotels every so often in France. This is an unpretentious modern hotel on a former Route Nationale that has now been bypassed by the autoroute. We booked through Inter Hotel (a booking chain in France that is a bit like Best Western in concept, I suppose) as we needed a 2 night stop while we visited the narrow guage steam railway in Tournon. First impression of the hotel when you arrive is that it has the typical Mediterranean / Provencal look about it - low building, lots of terracotta tiles and trees in the front. We'd pre-paid (and not very much, either) and so didn't have high expectations about our room. The parking was locked with a very substantial gate and a key-code pad. Drove back round to the reception; checked in (no deposit or credit card imprint required) and were given our key and security code to the parking. We had a 3rd floor room and the lift (elevator) was convenient to the entrance, to the car park and to the rooms - so some thought in the design of the building. Our room was everything you could expect - well furnished, but in a simple style and everything looked just a few months old - although I suspect that it wasn;t - it was just good quality stuff that was well cared for. Our room had a flat screen tv with limited English programs (just sky news and CNN, but who cares???). Bathroom was huge with soft, clean towels. Comfortable bed and functional air conditioning in the room, plus full-height french windows and a small balcony.

The restaurant doesn't provide dinner at the weekend, but it is a couple of minutes drive into the town or 5 - 1- minutes walk. There are some good restaurants as well, both in the old part of the town and along side the RIver. Very friendly staff - I got the impression that even though it is a fairly modern property, it is family owned and operated. And the best breakfast in 10 days
