Alhaurin el Grande is blessed with several good restaurants for a small pueblo. Casa Paco is acknowledged as the place to eat fish. However the Allegria is just as good but better value for money and the seats are more comfortable. Now they have introduced a menu of 3 courses for euro 12.80 which is extraordinary value. Starters a choice of salads, soup and prawns pil pil, followed by chicken, pork or by far the best sea bream or sea bass cooked on the grill "a la plancha". The cooking is excellent and Francisco and his son Francisco very friendly but do not speak a lot of english. They know enough to get your order right. If you can afford it the shellfish and other fish are cooked to perfection. If you do not eat fish meat is also of good quality and cooked how you like it. For a spanish restaurant you will not find quality or better value for money on the Costa del Sol.
