Berry Lodge

Travelled with partner for two nights in October. It was very quiet. Took part in a cookery course all day Saturday. It was a refreshing treat - a taste of real Irish hospitality. Comfortable bed in nicely furnished room. Lovely food and wine all served up by wonderful staff. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Rita for making our break so enjoyable. I would highly recommend this establishment for a nice serene getaway . We availed of lovely beach walks and the local pubs which had cracking trad music sessions and we left Berry Lodge feeling refreshed and replinished . We would definitely do this again.

WE stayed here for two nights/one dinner which we felt was a good price. We were welcomed warmly by Rita even though we were a bit earlier than we had said we would be. Over tea and scones we had a nice visit and she recommended nearby Bellbridge Hotel for dinner. It was an excellent meal and we were well satisfied.
Berry Lodge was Rita's family home and she modernized it into a lovely B &B. The narrow winding staircase was a bit of a problem but that is because we had too much luggage. The room was very nicely appointed and the beds comfortable. WiFi only works in the conservatory but i found it a delightful place to sit and look out at the beautiful fields and garden. Dinner the next night was excellent as were the breakfasts. I would recommend this place highly. Rita went above and beyond in searching the bushes for part of my friend's I phne that she had dropped out the window!

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night and we were delighted with our short trip. Rita is a wonderful hostess who welcomed us to her B&B with a lovely cup of tea/coffee and homemade scones and jam! Delicious!

Rita herself has great charm and we had a lovely chat with her - very helpful and recommended a lovely restaurant in town also.

Bedroom was clean and spacious and the bed itself was very comfortable. A lovely quiet sleep despite the heavy winds outside.

Breakfast was hearty with gorgeous homemade bread and scones.

Berry Lodge is worthy of a good review and we'd easily recommend it to family and friends visiting the area. We would love to stay again!!

We were very disappointed in this B&B. The description is not correct. This facility is an old farmhouse being run as a cooking school and restaurant, with a few bedrooms. As B&B customers, we felt like second-class customers - a burden to the school/restaurant operation. The restaurant stayed open until midnite on a week night - very noisy. No place to relax with the lounge being adjacent to the restaurant and an open door, No internet unless you're in the restaurant. Had to ask that the hot water be switched from the kitchen to the B&B. And there is no live-in owner. You're in the house alone.

What a treat! This beautiful renovated family house brought up to current standards was just the right thing for our 2 day stay. Views of Spanish Point and the ocean beyond out the windows were great. A welcome of tea and scones was just what we needed after a long day's drive. Sitting in the large dining area fitted with comfortable sofas was a joy.

After a close by recommendation for dinner we were greeted by Rita on our return. We had scheduled a cooking class the next morning, but had to make some adjustments as the power company was turning off her electricity for part of the day. We all agreed what would work best, and spent some time chatting about the house and garden with Rita. She is a wonderful host.

Breakfast was delicious with special extra touches. I couldn't wait to learn how to make those delicious scones. We had a chance to check out her garden that supplies her herbs and some vegetables. The cooking class the next day was great fun. Brown bread, date nut bread, scones, and salmon quiche. That made up our lunch. And we were on our way, happy and satisfied.

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed.

Stayed there last night. Paying less than € 50 for B&B ... Great value ...The breckie though was a treat... Imagine everything from smoked salmon to goats cheese and plaice... Wow.

Now the dinner. This is a treat on the edge of the Atlantic. Haddock ..Plaice ...Cod and salmon. I had the chowder to start and the haddock ... Great wine selection as well. Great for a " Romantic Weekend"...,
