After our flights were cancelled we booked the explorer hotel, leaving the newport bay hotel, I wish i had stayed there for our holiday, the set up was brilliant for the children, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were good too. The swimming pool is amazing,we had such a good time there. would reccomend this hotel to all my friends going to disney.

I stayed at this awful Explorers Hotel with my family recently. What a dredful place that we cannot recommend to any one. We arrived there about 9.00 pm at night, the children were tired and ready to sleep. My daughter's baby was sick on entering the room on to the Duvet she requested a clean one from reception which taken more than an hour to arrived. I went to reception myself only to be lectured by the rude Receptionist about the lack of staff.
The rooms were quite dirty with a not nice smell emiting from the bathroom, the wash basin was not draining properly,on two mornings there were no hot water, there was no fridge, just one tea bag,and sachet of coffee, once the poor quality powder milk was used you had to purchase else where. Children were running noisly along the corridor late one night.
To make matters worse we left our rooms and spent the day at Disnney Parks arrived back at about 6.00 pm only to find a number of items(Lap top, DVD Player, DVD's,Nintendo,Adaptor) to the value of about £600.00 was stolen from our still locked room, this was inmediately reported to the Hotel Management I must stress these were items that could not be locked in the Hotel small safe.we spent the next half day at the Police Station reporting the theft to which no one has had the courtesy to contact us regarding.
We have spent time at other Disney Hotels and other Hotels in Europe but the Explorers is the worse we have ever visited. I would advise caution at staying at this awful place.
Oh the Pool could be ok for the kids.

Room Tip: Aawful avoid this Hotel

Dear Chantelle P,

Customer satisfaction is the reason why our staff works hard on improving some areas – therefore we appreciate your opinion after your stay at the Explorers Hotel.

We are sorry to learn of your concerns regarding the long time service at the reception, the dirty room, the hot water, the noise along the corridor at night and regarding the fact that some items were stolen from your room.

Please note that concerning your stolen items, we have already sent an answer directly to Leger Holidays.

Also, our reports don’t indicate any complaint about the hot water during your time here. Please be assured that our teams would have been happy to help you in this matter should you have made a request.

We can ensure you of your best efforts to meet and exceed guest expectations and we do sincerely hope you will not judge solely on the basis on this particular experience.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at the hotel in the future.

With kind regards,
The Sales Team.

We stayed Fri-Sun. We got there, checked in, dropped off our bags then nipped to the Disney village for a bite to eat.

First impressions were very good, the room was a good size with separate toilet and shower, the room was clean and stocked with tea and coffee and a hair dryer. The TV had English channels to keep the kids busy in the morning when you're getting dressed.

When we got back from Disney village we had a swim. The pool is great we spent an hour in there, using the slides and getting totally soaked from the bucket that emptied over part of the pool.

For 3-12's there is a large soft play area for the kids to get lost in that never seemed to be very busy.

The bar is expensive but they do a happy hour between 7 & 8 pm which is buy 1 get one free. We got 4 drinks for £15 the same sort of price you'd pay here.

Breakfast was good and not crowded at 7am, at 8 it was heaving but by that time we used the pool as that was really quiet then.

The hotel is the first drop off and pick up on the number 54 Pep bus from Disney. The busy can get crowded and queuing just doesn't happen once the bus turns up. People who were polite and nice before the bus turned up become animals shoving and pushing in a free for all to get a seat. Especially from the Disney to the hotel. The buses are every 15 mins at most times.

We really enjoyed our stay and have decided we are going back there in 2015.

Nice hotel, nice surroundings and a very short trip to Disneyland itself. 1st pick up on shuttle bus and 1st off when returning which was good. Food restaurants and bar are very expensive,so good to stock up on food and drinks at a local supermarket. Swimming pool and play area great for children although isn't much else to do so would say this hotel was very much a short stay kind of hotel. All in all a very good hotel and would defiantly recommend.

Arrived on Sunday, big group of family, so therefore check in took a bit of time, on first impression hotel looked very clean and modern. On the 6th floor, room was spotlessly clean, roomy, with tv that had English channels(itv, bbc, etc) hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities, found the beds to be comfortable and we all sleep no problems, although another pillow would of been nice.
Pool area was clean, lovely pool for kids with slides and pirate ship to keep them entertained for hours. A nice soft play area for children was fantastic, our little ones were in there every night.
Evening Buffett we didn't have but you can have it for around 22E, pizza was nice, 15E for pizza and chips but plenty to feed 2/3. Drinks are very expensive around 6E for a coke and 8E a beer. We brought our own drinks in the supermarket and would have them in the evening around the bar area, was no problem in taking your own drinks. Breakfast was excellent, plain and chocolate croissants, fresh bread rolls, ham, cheese, fruit salad, yogurts, hams, breads and cereal, with a hot drinks and a juice machine. We would fill kids bottles up with juice for around the park as this saved lots of money and made a ham roll to take with us for lunch as it can be very expensive to eat and drink around disney. Hotel is still busy with people at11pm/12pm at night, so don't go if your looking for a quiet getaway lol. All in all an excellent hotel for our family group which consisted of 27 people with children and babies from 15-8 months old, would defiantly recommend and would return. Great hotel for family's who are visiting disney and need a good base.

Dear Sam B,

Thank you for your remark concerning your recent stay at the Explorers hotel.

It´s great to read that rooms, hotel areas pool, kids activities and also breakfast fulfilled your requirements.

Nevertheless we took good notice of the fact that the Check in took a long time, that there were not enough pillows in your rooms, that you felt the drinks were too expensive and that it wasn’t quiet at all.

We will inform our teams about it so they can improve their services where necessary.

We would like to thank you for bringing these points to our attention.

We sincerely hope to have another opportunity to welcome you in our hotel.

Stayed here with my wife and three kids on the 11th March.

Our accomodation had a double bed,two singles pushed together and then a side room containing a bunk bed. Both had tv's in (with English channels so the Mrs can watch Corrie if she so desires) and was basic but clean.
The kids loved the pool area but be warned that the pirate ship is closed until 6pm which was a bit of a let down.
Shuttle bus runs every 10-15 minutes making this a great base for Disneyland Paris.
As other people have said, the prices of food and drink are exorbitant both at the hotel and Disneyland and for this reason,we won't be returning.
Florida next time for us!

The hotel is very good, clean with friendly cooperative staff and great value for money.

The restaurants are good value in a very expensive place; great and tasty pizza, nice continental breakfast.

The swimming pool is designed for the abundance of children who use it. Be careful when you read "last admittance at 10:30"; this means the pool starts to close and swimmers are asked to leave the pool.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and modestly furnished.

The staff are helpful, polite and are prepared to go the extra yard for your comfort.

Transportation to the parks and train station is a short free bus ride away on frequently running 'bendy-busses'.

I would happily recommend the Explorers hotel to anyone visiting Disneyland-Paris.
