“Would defiantly stay here again”
Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

This was our second trip 2 Disneyland , previously staying in disneys Newport bay. We stayed @ the explorers as a party of 9 four adults & 5 kids ranging from 11 to 11 months & each & every1 of us really enjoyed are stay. Having booked the hotel 1st & then reading the reviews I was extremely apprehensive about our stay but by the end of our stay i was extremely glad we chose 2 stay here & will again

Rooms
The rooms have ample space & are cleaned 2 a good standard each & every day , yes a little face lift wouldn't go a miss but nothing 2 serious .

Swimming pool
The pool was fantastic, clean & open from early morning until 11 pm . The water is a little chilly @ 1st but again nothing serious . The only fault I had with the pool was come the evenings ( when we chose 2 use it ) a group of older teenagers seemed 2 take over the pool , making it a little crowded & unsafe 4 the little ones ( no life gaurds )

Food
Breakfast was like any other continental breakfast , breads , meats, cheese , yogurts , cereal etc
We didn't eat @ the restaurant so couldn't comment we did how ever have pizza one evening which I didn't enjoy but that was simply down 2 personal preference , it was cooked well & hot

Play area
Was great for the kids & clean

There is a little coffee bar which sells all kinds of coffee ( delish ) & pastries , baguettes , paninis , buns etc once again very nice & cudnt complain . Beside the coffee bar is a little souvenir shop filled with all kinds of gift , sweets & cold drinks

Over all experience
We had a lovely tym @ this hotel & honestly can't understand where all the negative reviews came from . The staff where polite & willing 2 help & all spoke & understood English AND most importantly there wasn't a mouse in sight . I will b more than happy 2 stay here again .

Came here 5 years ago with friends and booked again as knew my 3 year old would love it with the pool and soft play area. Was worried after reading reviews but we dint have any complaints.

Pool-fab! not only enjoyed by my daughter but us too!

Breakfast-you choose your time upon check-in and never had to queue as stated in other reviews. Was lovely with lots to choose from. Croissants, different types of bread, cereal, yoghurts, tea/coffee and fresh juice. English breakfast can be brought for 4euros but what was available was enough.

Rooms-basic but everything you need, safe (free!), hair dryer, towels (changed every day) tv, beds were also changed everyday.

Hotel itself- great with shuttle bus to park every 10 mins which was never too busy, we always got a seat. check-in was quick. free wifi in reception area and bars. marcos pizza was lovely, cant comment on other 2 restaurants as did not use them. disney shop at hotel. safe place to leave suitcases with a personal pin you type in to open huge locker, felt happy leavin luggage here on last day. a lake in the grounds so can go for a walk (if you get time!).

Overall-will be staying here again when we next go to disney. lovely hotel at a good price. staff friendly and helpful. yes, rooms were basic and prob in need of a little update but rest of hotel was fab and really, how much time do spend in your room. if we were just chilling out we would go to bar area where we could watch my little girl play in soft play which she loved!

thanks for another fab stay!!! :-)

We have recently returned from this hotel, family of four, 2 kids ages 5 and 8.
We had a crew room, which was ok, not the cleanest of rooms or spacious but we weren't in the room for much apart from sleeping.
The Hotels pool is great for kids, they loved it. The play area was also brilliant to keep them busy and happy whilst we chilled at the bar for an hour in the evenings.
The courtessy bus to the Disney parks and train station was about every 10 mins,
Ok, so the only negatives i have, the breakfast was sparce, BUT, we all ate, nobody went hungry. The rooms and general areas could be a bit cleaner.
HINTS and TIPS - Go to the train station before you enter the park and buy water, biscuits, drinks etc. MUCH cheaper, the parks are mega expensive!
Eating in the evenings, you can get the train to the shopping place near by, the restaurants there are cheaper and there is also a huge supermarket, costs about 3 euros return per adult on the train.
There is also a McDonalds near the Park entrance which is reasonable.
It's all fast food and fast food wherever you go, so prepare yourself for that.
Overall, we had a great stay, would reccomend this hotel for families and groups.

Room Tip: go on the 7th floor, bit quieter and lifts right in the lobby.

This hotel is a joke it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my life, so many points I could be here all night but ill give you a few, no Internet as advertised, staff rude, rooms dirty, breakfast disgusting, we had no hot water for the first two days of the stay which I complained maybe four times staff just laughed at me, asked for the manager too be told no manager was on and this was a Saturday night. I'm not one too complain but please stay away from this place! And please the manager from this hotel don't reply too this as you clearly do with all negative stories as you had plenty of time too answer my problems when I was at your hotel!

Positives of trip: clean pool, good play area, regular shuttle bus to park.
Negatives: There was no atmosphere in the hotel at all. Only for the single, out of the way Disney shop on the reception floor, you wouldn't know where you were. The lift/elevator layout was rediculous. The odd numbered floors have lifts beside reception, the even numbered floors have lifs on the other side of the building. Rooms sterile in design and decor, very basic and dull. In our room, the sink was blocked, the word "poo" was written on the toilet door in some spray, two floor tiles in bathroom were physically separate from the floor, beds were "made" in a rush + creases and lumps of lint on bed sheets + edges not tucked under etc, tops of curtains full of dust and webbing, and to top it all off my daughters shoes were stolen from the room. Reported all of the above apart from shoes to reception, and only the sink was fixed, the leathal floor tiles were left loose with sharp edges. Then reported the theft to reception, they checked with someone and nothing was handed in, they went to check some room and found nothing. That was it, no explanation, nothing.
First time in this hotel, previous nine years spent in Disney hotels with no issues, I won't be leaving the Disney hotels again. And just in case there's any dispute, I took photos of the tiles, toilet door, sink and curtains. I don't complain, but this was beyond anything I've ever encountered, it even drove me to sign up here and let people know what they may encounter.

Our family has stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions. Both times we were very happy with our accomodation. The food is also of a good standard. This is an ideal hotel if going to Disneyland but it is also only 45mins from the centre of Paris. We have also recommended this to other family members. almost forgot the pool is a winner with the kids!!

The Explorers hotel is great for kids and families, rooms pretty good for 3 star, nice and clean, no frills. Hotel has a great pool for youngsters and a soft play area and pirate ship near the restaurant for them to play in too. Food in the restaurant is decent, better than equivalent in the UK, breakfast was busy when we stayed just after new year. Free shuttle buses can get you to the parks and local train station, but they can be very busy at peak times. All in all I would happily return or recommend to family and friends.
