“A stunning vista from this cafe”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

Located at the southern most tip of the Isle of Man is "Calf of Man" . A cafe and visitor centre must have one of the most stunning curved glass vista you will experience.
The cafe is a modern building and also has a car park available. Whether you chose to sit in your car, view from the cafe or walk the coast line, the views are incredible. Grey seals where swimming with their calfs whilst we were visiting. A must see if you're visiting the island.

“Scenic View”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Beautiful views over to the Calf of Man. There is a very good cafe situated at The Sound serving light snacks/meals although it is rather expensive. Well worth a visit but best if the weather is good. A bit of a wild place when there is a gale and rain.

“Fantastic views plus seals.”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

We went down to see the Calf of Man and were really taken in by the views of the water rushing through the sound and the distant views of the seals on the rocks.

If you enjoy fantastic views of the sea and the surrounding area this is the place to be.

“It's a cafe, NOT a visitor centre”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Firstly, the location is awe-inspiring - the rush of water through the straits between the main island and the Calf of Man, the seals, the views - all great. And the building is interesting and tactful in its setting. BUT, in a visitor centre I expect to be informed - audio-visuals, exhbibitions etc. What we have here instead is a cafe with a few tired info board stuck on the walls. And not a very good cafe either by the smell of it. We walked in and the smell of old fat sent us straight back out again.

Enjoy the views, don't bother with the visitor centre and eat up the hill in the tea room at the Cregneash folk museum.

“Splendid”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is a review of the location, not the restaurant. One of the Isle of Man's gems. You can spend 30 minutes to 8 hours here (weather permitting ! ). Its so relaxing and tranquil with awesome views. I am not a nature lover, nor a walker, but I suspect this area would appeal to both. I enjoy watching the occaisional vessel sail by. Explore and enjoy.
