“A weekend trip on its own”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

This hotel is so enormous it almost beggars belief. With a Ventian passport thrown in with the room rate, we got lunch, breakfast and a gondola ride (for 4 of us) thrown in! A Bella suite is big enough for a family with 2 double beds and a sofa bed (and 2 tvs!). We spent most of the weekend here with more than enough to keep the kids amused. The only slight disappointment is that despite being one of the biggest hotels in the world, the swimming pool is nothing to write home about. If you haven't been before I suggest you use one of the complementary maps to help you find the quickest way to your room- it can be a long schlep if you go the wrong way. Staff helpful, rooms clean and easy to get about in Macau- shuttle buses take you most places! A good place for a family weekend

After reading quite some reviews, we opted for Venetian. Most of the hotels in macau offers free shuttles to different hotels which is worthwhile. The hotel as such is huge. It takes 15 mins to walk from one end to another. You can get easily lost on the way but the map helps you get to your room wing. We had opted for the Bella Suite. It is pretty decent and we loved the layout of the room. It was pretty spacious and had a good view.
Being vegetarians, food wasnt an issue. There were plenty of food joints that offered North indian cuisine. It will be good if you googled the nearby Indian restaurants especially in hotels close to Venetian.
I would recommend one to try the Galaxy hotel as it seems more exciting and interesting. The lobby/reception is very warm and has people to attend to you specifically. Venetian is really crowded and it is zero in terms of hospitality. But overall, it is okay if one is not looking for any personal touch to their visit.

We booked the low season discovery package for 3 nights which includes a generous selection of buffet breakfast and lunches at 4 different restaurants. We ate at all four included buffets and very happy to report they are all really excellent. Especially the Bambu Cantonese restaurant, we are genuinely surprised at how great the food is, on the last day at the bambu we stuffed to our neck with the awesome dessert and congee. Also sampled portofino the classy Italian joint where things are a bit pricey but worthy of the fee. I can't imagine how any hotel/resort could do restaurant better than the Venetian. Package also includes a sprinkle of activities to do such as the worthwhile half day macau historic site tour and vouchers for shopping
and gondola rides. The Brazilian girls rowing our gondola is a brilliant singer :) I must also say the grand canal shopping
experience is the best man-made shopping environment I've ever had. There is no wonder tourists flock to this casino as a major destination. I am no impulse shopper usually but this is too good not to spend a few hard earned dollar :) I know the canal and the facade and the bridges and the singers and the oh so blue skies and the broad boulevard and the huge sized shops are all fakes, but as far as fakery goes, you can't top the Venetian :) btw, for egg tart, forget anywhere else, just go straight to The Lord Stow egg tart shop in the Venetian, easily the best egg tart I've tried in macau by miles (and
I've tried quite a lot of egg tarts here!)

Room wise, we get a standard room which they call a suite. Other travelers has provided plenty of pictures of the standard rooms. The decor is breaming with gold ornament and Italian opulence, albeit they are showing a fair bit of wear and tear and cracks. The only minor gripe I had was with the shower water pressure. It's curious why the hotel only give guests the option of hot and cold adjustment but no pressure adjustment. So you are always having a torrential wave of a water pressure in the shower. It's not to the point of unbearably unpleasant, but I can imagine it could cause issue for some, such as small kids with sensitive skin. The king sized bed actually looks like a small double bed in this gigantic room, which really shows how huge the rooms are. The window overlooking the rooftop mini golf course and the city of dreams building which we don't mind. All in all the biggest standard hotel room we have ever stayed in and certainly enjoyed it a lot besides the tiny issue of the water pressure.

To get around macau, Venetian provides frequent and free air conditioned shuttles to the nearby city of dreams and four season so you can go and watch the awesome production of "house of dancing waters", and to ferries and airports and sands casino in downtown whichis a short stroll to the other big casinos such as the grand lisboa, MGM, and historic district of Macau. There is really no need to ever hail a taxi if you stay at Venetian.

If you are a gambler you'll probably have a ball at the Venetian. I'm not a gambling man so it was just another sight seeing item for me. Unfortunately for non-smokers, the no smoking sign on the casino floor appears to be suggestion only. The flock of roaming Chinese gamblers seems to light up wherever they feel like.

Family entertainment wise, the pool is a long walk for us as we stay at the south wing where the pool is located at north wing end. There's dedicated kids zone too. The in door plazas and outdoor main entrance square always has some sporadic performers doing various acts. There's also a CSI themed mini game to keep you entertained. However to keep kids away from the main casino floor means you'll have walk the long way around the casino to check in/out etc

To sum up, an interesting experience and well worthy the price.

The Venetian was a gorgeous hotel and found it to be everything that they advertise to be, lots of grandeur and very mystical. The only hindrance for me was that it seemed to be little suffocating because everything is indoors, they give you the illusion that you are outdoors but after spending a full day inside I was dying for some fresh air.
The rooms at the hotel are huge and very comfortable. the swimming pools were lovely, and our kids enjoyed playing at the kids area which is in the shopping mall (you need to pay a fee though)
The only thing is the concierge was a little clueless, first of all they couldn't understand what we were asking even though we were speaking in English and they were really struggling to give us information.

don't hesitate to stay here. The rooms were amazing. Some reviewers have written that their rooms seemed past their prime- we don't agree. Our room was perfect. It looked brand new. With the new smoking laws in Macau, we had no problem staying in the half of the casino that was non-smoking. We never smelled cigarette smoke unless we ventured into the smoking side of the casino. For us the best part was the swimming area. There was a heated pool outdoor for cooler months. We never saw more than a few people in the huge swimming area, I guess most guests prefer to gamble. It's the nicest outdoor area I've seen in Asia, potted palms, Greek statues, plenty of lounge chairs. The staff were outstanding. Many spoke flawless English and were very enthusiastic to help. The breakfast buffet was great, all the options, plus vegetarian, Asian, Indian, sushi, and an omelet bar. We had a great stay.

Room Tip: all the rooms are suites. Even a basic room is huge. Ours was part of the honeymoon package and we c...

I loved staying at this hotel. The rooms, amenities, customer service, location, stores, restaurants, and entertainment are just awesome. I had a great stay here. As expected, the whole hotel looks luxurious and opulent. The customer service is five stars. My favorite room in my suite was the bathroom. I could not resist a bath in it. I loved shopping in the stores, the Gondola ride, and eating egg tarts at the Lord Stow café all in the hotel. Then I also ate at a Portuguese restaurant near the hotel. The food was great. The hotel provides shuttle buses to/fro the ferry and airport which are a bonus. They are convenient and make getting in and out of town very easy. I will recommend it to my friends and I intend to stay here again.

The Venetian Macao is a monstrosity in glass & concrete with the glitz and razmattaz inside quite loud and gaudy. To call it a hotel or a resort would be wrong for it is a mini-town by itself and a tourist attraction for any visitor to Macau. To be precise, this hotel is situated in the Cotai strip which is connected to downtown Macau by a sea-link bridge.

The hotel has three massive entrances which open out into long shiny, bright corridors with hordes of residents, tourists and visitors thronging them. Holding price of place is the enormous main hall of the casino, where people keep gambling from early in the morning.

Allmajor shopping brands have outlets inside this mini-town. One level modelled on Venice with its market square ,winding canals, bridges & gondola rides is certainly worth a visit. The artificial evening sky roof here can be termed 'out-of-the world'

The suite I stayed in was huge with a king-size bed and living quarters a few steps down with sofas, tables, televisions, the works. The bathroom with its tasteful fittings was spick and span. The loaded mini-bar gives a sense of comfort, even if one doesn't use it.. However if one expects peace and quiet and excellent room service, this is not the place to stay. Check-in and check-out also takes time, given the long queues.

The package includes a whole of freebies like complimentary breakfast at The Deco restaurant and lunch/dinner coupons at The Golden Peacock or Bambu restaurants. Breakfast includes Indian food as well given the large number of Inidan tourists. The Golden Peacock isan Indian restaurant serving decent Punjabi cuisine. You have the choice of a buffet or an ala carte though the coupons are valid only for the buffet. In addition there is a huge food court serving cusine from many parts of the world. Here too there is a small Indian joint.

The gym, I did not use at all. Given the miles and miles of walking inside the hotel itself served the purpose of my daily exercise.
