“Over rated”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Gets crowded and learner tourists from China just get in the way. Not much decent explanation. Rubbish Starbucks nearby.

“great to stroll and see things”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

we enjoyed walking around and seeing the old buildings. I enjoyed the little alleys off the main street the most. St. Paul's ruins were really cool to see.

“the first thing to do in Macau”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

If you only had two hours, this is where you're supposed to spend it. Starting from the Macau Museum, then to the St. Paul ruins, then walking down to Senado Square with Sto Domingo, Leal Senado, Misericordia, and fountain. Expect huge crowds as you walk since everyone has the same idea - but nowhere else on the island will you have this concentration of Portuguese architecture.

“Must see in Macau”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

Visiting Macau and not visiting this historic centre of Macau would be like not visiting Macau.
Senado Square is a popular venue for tourist. The square is surrounded by pastel-coloured neo-classical buildings, paved with Portuguese gravels in the pattern of waves and lined with green antique streetlights. St. Lawrence Church (dating back to 1569), also known as Hall of the Soothing Winds is located in the vicinity. Beside historical buildings you can also find lots of shops selling clothing, souvenirs and foods. The Square are always crowed with tourist at all time of the day. Visiting during the Christmas season will reward you with abundant Christmas decorations and lights.
