The only hotel we could find with a room for the weekend, check in was quick and easy and staff were friendly. However, when we got to the room the beds were extremely firm, although the room was very clean and ready very early. There was also the distinct lack of wifi in the room or even the hotel lobby, however there was a PC available for use, unfortunately this was very slow. On the other hand the shower was fantastic.

I stayed a the Taipa Square Hotel for work for three nights. The room was booked by for me as it is close to the University. The hotel is in Taipa which is near the Cotai strip and the new casinos. The old part of Taipa is being regenerated and there is a lot of construction going on around the place. This means, as well as some noise, it is difficult to walk anywhere - such as to the casinos - though taxis are very cheap by Australian standards.

The hotel has a small casino on the first couple of floors so the hotel reception is on one of the higher floors accessible via the lift. The room was clean and the furniture adequate. Bed, Table, chairs etc. The room, overall, was quite small compared to other hotels i have stayed in Macau and not one to spend much time in because of this. While getting any distance from Taipa is somewhat hindered by construction looking around the hotel area is easy as there is less traffic.

Should you wish to stay in the room and not go out and look around the place - which is an amazing place including and beyond the casinos -the TV entertainment option was a bit limited in terms of English language - or indeed interesting programs in other languages where I try and guess what the program is about.

The internet is available free in room by cable - they can provide the cable at reception if you were under the impression that the world now worked on wi fi and you would never need a blue/yellow cable again and so to cut down on weight you did not bring it. Though for those who have the Apple mark on their computer remember to have an adaptor. Saying that, Starbucks and McDonalds etc have free wi fi just behind the hotel.

Taipa, which is not so touristy, has some interesting local food places as well some bars to get a drink. There are also local supermarkets just by. I was in a side room of the hotel so could just see the racing track, though this was through the usual haze which affects this part of China.

The beds were hard but fine - i slept - and the breakfast was a buffet of western and asian dishes. I tended to choose the boiled eggs and noodles, though for some reason, and this is not restricted to this hotel as i have had the same experience recently, they don't have chilli sauce available, only Tabasco. While i like Tabasco sauce as well as the next person, i would have liked some good chilli sauce for the noodles.

I am not sure if this hotel has a free shuttle bus service from the Airport or Ferry terminal. I did not see one when i was there.

I have been to Macau for a couple of time. I would like to share my great experience with this hotel. The price for the hotel is reasonable and value for money.
I have booked two rooms with this hotel for my family for 5 days. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff at the hotel were warm and friendly. They were ready to provide info on eateries, transport and places of interest whenever you approach them. The hotel shuttle service was efficient and punctual. The local food around the hotel were easily available, cheap and yummy. The bus service and taxi were able to bring us anywhere of this city.
The bed in the room was good for us and the best part was, there was this free Wifi in the hotel room and the speed of the system was superb. Many 5 star hotels in Macau do not provide free Wifi in the room and we have to go to the hotel lobby to get free access to the system. The free Wifi had helped us tremendously in clearing emails and getting info. The hotel rooms were very clean and quiet though sometime we did hear other guests talking along the corridor, but it was tolerable. I would like to thank the hotel for giving us such a wonderful experience.

The hotel is fine, it is OK. I was on the 11th non-smoking floor. The room was sufficiently spacious and so was the bathroom which has a shower and a bathtub. Toiletries are provided and they are fine. On cable tv there are some channels beside Chinese, especially in Portuguese. The elevators work efficiently. The breakfast buffet does not have much choice and, if you stay a few days, becomes repetitive. Not much there for the foreign palate. But you will find something to eat, no doubt. The check in at the 21st floor is a bit odd and does not make the hotel very safe since anyone can pretend to go to the reception area and instead roam the corridors of the hotel. Be ready for large groups of Chinese tourists arriving by bus and invading the place. They are loud and noisy. Chinese do not respect personal space much; so if you stand in line be ready to assert your rights or you will never make it. Overall, at least at the 11th floor, a good, OK hotel.

I had to book this hotel due to holidays in China (from October 1st), which made hotels prices double or even triple. Never go to Macao on first week of October. But I think at normal time, when this hotel costs some 70-80$ it is fair price, and hotel should not be avoided. Cunha street (Rua da Cunha / Koon-ya Kay, restaurants strip) is 12 min by feet, and residential area by the way, especially hotel’s quarter, has different shops including supermarkets, restaurants and eateries for every pocket. Latter are useful if you do not want to eat in casino, because all hi-end restaurants, despite working until 11, will rather refuse to accept new clients after 9 p.m.
Many travelers would find beds here too hard, but it was good for me.
Like all hotels built before gadgets era, there is deficit of outlets, and if you are european, better to have your own outlet adapter. We were provided with outlet adapter (universal type, which is not perfect) and internet cable (speed was high and worked properly).
Special thanks for air circulation system in hotel. Experienced travelers (not only those who smoke) know that bad custom of Macao and Hong Kong hotels, where closed-loop conditioning combined with permanently closed windows caused terrible smell inside any smoking room and floor. Here it is not the case, fortunately, and smoking rooms are generally suitable even for non-smokers.

The room we stayed in was great. Air conditioner & hot water worked properly. There is an electric kettle that you can use for coffee. There are lots of shops too like 7/11 and grocery store where you can buy stuff - food, toiletries, water etc. They have buffet breakfast too. Nothing fancy but I find it satisfying. They served western breakfast - Sausages, Ham, Baguette, etc. they also served yang chow rice (Yellow rice with green peas, carots), Fried noodles, Spring rolls etc..

You can use their concierge and leave your luggage for some hours especially for evening flights. They also have a shuttle that goes to venetian every hour. an hour walk, you can reach Galaxy hotel. :)
