The photos don't do this property justice. Pretty much all the other reviews are correct. Location is not in the heart of the "historic" district, BUT it was easy for us to navigate through the city even by public bus (I thought the location would be a concern, but it wasn't). This boutique hotel has a B&B/Inn feel to it and is in a quiet neighborhood with a small park nearby. Breakfast was pretty good (made to order eggs/omelets, assorted breads, fresh fruits/fruit juice, cereals, very nice coffee/tea, ham, bacon...), and the staff were extraordinarily helpful and speak excellent English. We stayed in a single room (with queen size bed) & a suite...both were very nice, comfortable, and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Above average/luxury linens in our rooms and even in the dining room.

I've been to this hotel twice, both times with my families. The rooms are very nice, very roomy, very clean, very comfortable, beds very big. There is a computer inside each room. I bought my own netbook and can use the wireless internet at the same time.

Other than the rooms, there isn't other attractions / service though. They have only ~ 20 rooms and only breakfast is served inside the building. But that makes the environment very quiet, in sharp contrast to most other hotels in Macau. I went there as kind of retreat and unwind myself - great success.

ALL the rooms are non-smoking rooms, a special feature in Macau.

It is not convenient at all if you want a drink or an afternoon tea when you are at the hotel, not to mention meal. The 'Educational Restaurant' is about 50 m away at another building, it closes at weekends, we have to look for places to eat. There isn't even a vending machine for soft drinks or snacks.

Going to the 'heart' of Macau from the hotel is not so convenient, you have to walk down the 'hill' to take a bus, or call a taxi.

The attitude of the staffs there, are EXCELLENT, they are extremely helpful and they REFUSE TO TAKE TIPS !!

One additional feature is that there is a park for the public next to the hotel. The park has paths circling the Mong-Ha Hill and there are many locals walking round them for exercise. My mum likes the park very much as she can do her morning walk.

Another Blinder that deserves its impressive reputation, we only had two lovely nights in this attractive old world dwelling. The rooms put many larger hotels to shame and the service, whilst being provided by trainees, was personal and efficient. Dont waste you cash on some dreary casino, treat yourself with bargain room at this charismatic hotel.

From the moment we arrived till our reluctant departure we had a fabulous time. Such a high standard everywhere. The staff were terrific and really tried hard to make the experience memorable which it certainly was.

Totally agree with other reviewers, a little gem. The only drawback is located away from most sights and happenings in Macau and there's only 3 one way shuttle bus per day. A must to try out the restaurant, also great service, great value and ambience.

The Pousada is run by the Macau Institute for Tourism Careers (or something like that), so you get a lot for your money thanks to government subsidy and staff labor.
The staff is helpful, friendly and dutiful beyond any expectation. The rooms are luxurious and well-appointed. Beds are terrific, complimentary cookies and bottled water, WiFi and a mini-PC in each room...the list goes on. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed, and absolutely the best at this price level.

The adjoining student-run restaurant is no slouch, either. Very refined Portugese-Macanese cuisine with more of that excellent service. The dessert buffet at lunch is absolute doom for any dieting plan. But you can work it off later walking as you inevitably get lost on public transit.
