Stayed here for two nights in my first ever trip to Macau. I read all of the fantastic 5 star reviews of this place on this site, and decided to try. I was not disappointed one bit. Because this hotel is a training school for students entering the hospitality industry, the stay is much more special than what you would get at other hotels. The staff are super friendly and will do what they can to make your stay that much more pleasant. The hotel is relatively small as much of the buildings make up the entire school itself. Our family had two separate rooms. One with 1 king bed, while the second had two twin beds. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was larger than what was found in most of the other hotels in that region of Asia. The bathroom was clean and had an excellent shower system that I could never find in other hotels I've stayed in. The room was also non-smoking as was the entire hotel.
Breakfast consisted of western and chinese food items. Keep in mind that nearly all of the breakfast items were prepared and cooked by the students! The staff in the breakfast area were nearly all students except for one or two supervisors in the mix. In the evening, we ate at the Educational Restaurant, which turned out to be quite good. Again, all of the staff were students with a few supervisors on hand. They did their jobs slowly but confidently. Could not fault the staff in any category. Reservations are recommended as space can be taken up quickly.
The drags about this hotel is the location which is located on top of a hill. If you're not in the best physical condition to climb steep hills, then you're better off taking the taxi to the entrance. The climb itself is not too bad though. There is a free shuttle bus which can take you to one of the temples as well as the Macau ferry terminal. The other drag is that there is no swimming pool. But with the warm and friendly service, and unbeatable rooms at this hotel; I would trade the pool anytime. There's a good reason why this hotel is rated so highly on this site. You certainly will not regret it. I'm coming back here on my return trip to Macau.
