“Crowded Senado”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

It is littered with tourists and shops.
It is an OK visit. If you find its nook and crannies you will find quality shops.
Beef jerky and other delicacies are sold here, and some merchandises are cheaper here.
Finding a good souvenir? this is the place to be.

You can find some of the restaurants are also great.
Overall the Portuguese ambiance is lost but I guess the place still has its charms

“a bit disappointing, it has lost its character”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

This was not how we imagined it to be as we felt there was not much Portuguese character left in the square. Lots of high end shops and food outlets among poorer market stall holders. Very quiet at night but bustling during the day. This will lead you to the older part of town which is far more interesting.

“Very Attractive Area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

Largo do Senado is one of the most attractive areas of the old, colonial Macau. Ignore the touristy shops, and you'll like it.

“Lovely square to spend the day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

Recently spent the day in Macau and really enjoyed the Senate Square area. It's bustling with tourists and has many nice souvenir shops, food vendors, and Portuguese architecture to admire. The cobblestone streets and quaint feel seemed as though we were walking through a small European city. Definitely worth seeing and don't forget to venture through the side alleyways for a more authentic experience of Macau!

“Well maintained area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Senado square is very well kept, with lot's of stores and restaurants. In those side alleys along the square you will find vendors selling mostly clothing but also some other things. You will also find the Macau Tourist information office on the left side, coming from the main street. The Macau post office is on the corner of the right side.
According to upcoming festivals the square gets decorated. I think my favorite are the lanterns for Chinese New Year.
On weekends and holidays it can be very crowded.
