The Kun Lam Temple unfortunately for me I've been there too late at the closing times, having showed up myself after the 8 pm I found the entrance blocked by a chain and a surveillance officer before.
Being located at the end of a long pier there are not other roads to access directly and as a result I had to settle for seeing the temple with its statue from a distance of 50 meters.
I have had the pleasure of admiring the beautiful statue placed exactly above the temple from the main road.

Very historical. Once you walk in, a sense of calmness prevails. A bit smokey though due to the incense burning.

We visited Kun Iam Temple (not Kun Iam Statue) during our trip to Macau last week. This was the first time we had visited this temple on Avenida do Coronel Mesquita, at the end of Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeidia. We found this old temple to be very interesting. There are nine or ten worship rooms that you can browse through and lots of deteriorating paint and decor that offered a more historical, personal, 'real' feel to this temple compared to the more polished, freshly painted and well manicured temples and attractions you can find in Macau.

We also found Kun Iam Temple to be quieter with only a few other tourists there when we visited, due to it being a fair distance away from the traditional city centre attractions. This made the visit much more peaceful and relaxing compared to past visits of A-Ma temple and others around Macau.

There is a small hillside garden just behing Kun Iam Temple called Montanha Russa Park that is decent and also much less frequented by tourists. Also, after visiting Kun Iam Temple, you can make your way down Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeidia to the attractions near Tap Seac Square, or go to the nearby Flores Garden and Guia Hill cable cars so as to visit the Guia Fortress.

Overall, We prefer Kun Iam Temple to A-Ma as our top choice in Macau. Its worth seeking out if you have time on your hands in Macau or are interested in seeing some of Macau's temples over other type of attractions.

Kun Iam Temple is not as famous as A-ma Temple, for example; but it is very nice, at least in my opinion.
I was going there a lot actually, because I use to live near by.
It is big, and I love the stactues there. It also smells like incense all the time, and I love the atmosphere.
Just stop by if you are around: macau is so small anyways that you wont loose a lot of time if you pass there.
