“Where Macau got its name”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

There's the old temple which is hectic and rather commercialised but very interesting - it is a must see and is classical in every way.
We also went to the new A-Ma temple - spectacular views, superb re-creation of an ancient building and far less busy.

“Nice, quiet and quaint place”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The A-Ma temple is a nice, peaceful and quiet place of worship. There tend to be a lot of tourists thronging this temple which is at a stone throws distance from the Macau Tower. It is beautiful and well maintained. One will typically find a lot of worshipers at the temple performing rites even during busy work days.

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

Built on a hill, facing the sea, a perfect location for a temple. We loved the atmosphere with the stairs, incense, offerings, etc but not the crowd, people were just pushing through, disturbing people who were praying.

“Still Very Much Alive”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

It is still very much a practicing temple, used by the locals. It was not big. We liked the circular incenses..
