“Great Experience”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Very crowded, but a great opportunity to get some temple photos. Lots of incense burning, gongs and fire crackers going off. There is a good buzz here and we even got to see some lion dancing performed by a local Macao group - just outside the maritime museum.

Take the recommended walking route through historic Macao and you will end up at A-Ma Temple as your final stop.

“If you think not only about slot machines”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Nice quiet complex of several worship pavillions. You may find it quite typical taoist temple from first look. But the main things are inside; it is the oldest temple with original paintings and carvings, e.g. A-Ma arrival depiction (showing cultural exchange, as godess is arriving on caravella-like ship, not seen some 100 years before temple was built).
Do not set A-Ma temple as final part of your walking tour, when you will be tired already. Pavillions are scattered on almost vertical rock.

“Huge!”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Easy to access but definitely use the shuttle to the top ... unless you're exceptionally fit and want the uphill challenge. We spent nearly an hour wandering the temple and visiting the statue. Another wonderful view (albeit the pollution was still evident) of Taipa and how it is progressing.

“A-Ma Temple”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Historical and Religious site , a good start to a walking tour of Old Macau . It is a free site and many locals and tourists visit . It is within Old Macau and easily accessible by taxi or on foot. The temple complex include many smaller alcoves , shrines and temples. You may buy sticks of incense and offer them in each temple or shrine with prayers. Overall , a must see site of historical value from a time gone by
