The hotel is a good ten minutes from the centre in a quiet area. Check in fast and friendly. ms khoo on reception, Malaysian duty manager was lovely throughout stay. Public areas look a bit 1980s but are smoke free which is lovely in Macau ! Pool area great for kids, sign says going through renovation..very very busy the day we arrived. A lovely phillipino staff member was basically running the whole area, staff seemed overwhelmed and not coping with crowds. Room was really nice, resort style, renovated, great terrace and view. Shuttle in and out of city good, well organized.
The next day pool area less crowded ands gaff more on top of things. Marina did a great job of looking after us, organizing a birthday cake and the male staff very visible and had working. Late check outs given no questions asked.
The hotel is ceasing to be the Westinghouse very shortly and we got the impressionist that this is an uncertain time for staff. There are not enough people working the pool and meal areas. Staff working very hard to cope. Spa staff by comparison seem very chilled and not really doing much!
Entrance to the pool is odd. Lots of pointless gates stopping you getting in unless you go up and downstairs via spa area. Not much signage!
Overall, some hard working staff, great room and nice smoke free location far from the incredibly busy casino area. Will be interesting to see how the hotel develop is year! Price wise a third less than other hotels. Remote and pretty location was actually a plus for us.

I have rated this as very good because the location, staff and comfort are exceptional. I did feel that the hotel had a bit of a 1970's "needs refreshing" look about it, but it is worth a visit anyway.

Located on a quiet part of the island, the staff really went out of their way to assist. I came in for one day only to stay with my sister's family who were staying for a few days. My enquiry about adding another bed was quickly answered in the affirmative and the bed was ready and waiting when I got there (at 1:30 am!). Breakfast was really nice and varied and the staff were friendly. The staff on the tourist desk were also really friendly and helpful.

The only thing that really needs chafing are the poolside cushions - they were faded and dirty and had bird droppings on them. The pool also looked clean except wearing goggles - then the floating things were a bit scary.

Dear Maxi_SA
Thanks for taking the time to post some great feedback about your short stay with us. Our staff are a key part of the overall experience here and I am happy to hear your received excellent attention from them. As part of our ongoing renovations the pool cushions you mentioned have already been ordered and we are currently waiting for their arrival. We also have many other plans to be introduced throughout the year to complement the newly finished room upgrade. We hope to see you back here very soon.

We deliberately chose this hotel to chill and wanted to stay away from the casinos.
Its a great atmosphere with good and friendly staff.
Our room was good with carpet that you dont mind walking barefeet on.
The restaurant serves superb Macanese food! Would definitely recommend the African Chicken. Better than Fernaxxx across the beach!

Room Tip: We booked a beach view room (but given an ocean view instead). Bed is really comfy!

the hotel was kinda old but the room was quite comfy and spacious with balcony.. the location is quite far from macau centre but there is a free shuttle bus from/to the hotel so it's not a problem.. however do check the timetable and location of shuttle bus service for your convenience.. I tried the high tea in the hotel too and it's pretty good.. overall it's a good stay..

We stayed one night in this hotel on a excursion trip from Hong Kong. We really liked the hotel : we had a great, renovated room which was very spacious and comfy. Internet was fast, TV was a big flat screen and the Westin heavily beds are always great.

The hotel is under renovation and the room was brand new. Though, the terrace in front of the room was in terrible condition. Totally ran down and in need or urgent renovation.

Note that this hotel is not in the midst of the Macau action. It is in a peaceful corner where you can stroll along the sea. We really liked the location and there is a free shuttle service from the ferry terminal to the hotel and also from the hotel to the Cotaj strip which is very convenient.

All by all, strongly recommended. Some more renovation would be welcome and I guess this is underway. We will be back.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a renovated room

I picked the hotel because it is a SPG hotel, thought I might store up the points...
My trip was a bit of a rush as I only stayed there for one night. Guess I missed the whole point of staying in a resort - I didn't get the chance to use any of the facilities.
The room was spacious, but not sparklingly clean. The terrace was run down, and the plants looked like they were dying. The view from the terrace was great though.
Ordered room service for breakfast. It was a great disappointment. The pancakes tasted funny.
Didn't get really good service from the front desk but the doormen were polite and friendly and always smiling.

Dear ukicheng,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I totally agree with you that one night is too short in order to relax, unwind and enjoy the many facilities as well as the ambience that this beach front resort has to offer. Hopefully next time you are in Macau you wu\ill have time to do so and will have a much better experience as a result. I have taken note of your in room dining experience and will be addressing it with our F&B director.

The peaceful & quiet location away from the main strip makes this place a winner.
The hussle and bussle of the big lights of Macau are still easily enough accessable with the complimentary Westin shuttle making constant runs from the Hotel across the three main islands.

As passed reviews have stated, the hotel is old and run down by 5 star standards but the rooms are adequate and quite spacious.
If you're into keeping fit on your weekend break or a holiday then this place is definately for you.
The pool is large rectangle; ideal for laps, the sand on the beach is soft and perfect for a morning run, the gym; extensive machines and free weights.
The surrounding hills also have many hiking trails that offer good views of the island.
It's not that easy finding the trail head but you can pick up a map from the reception. Once you reach the trail head, the trails are well sign posted throughout.
And to my surprise, in the 12km's I treked, I'd barely crossed paths with more than a handful of people.

Food;
The hotel food is really quite nice, but overpriced, and after a day of exercise, the portion sizes weren't satisfying.
There is a Portugese seafood restaurant very close by on the beach which was reasonable, but otherwise food choices are limited.
The main village offer some cheap eating options and that is a 15 minute walk down the beach.

In summary, this place is perfect for the active type looking to get out of the stereotypical Macau scene. Just limit your expectation of the 5 star room facilities.
