“Good Service and Nice Room”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We book in as a group of a family and were given rooms on the same floor as per request. The rooom is spacious and well appointed with the necessities. Location is near to some of the good food in town. Not that near to the casinos though not so busy.

Overall a pleasant stay.

We chose to stay at Royal Macau Hotel during our first visit to Macau in August 2012. We absolutely enjoy our 2 nights stay here! The rooms are big and clean, and the staff provides excellent service. As we came on our own, we had to rely on asking the hotel staff on things like where to eat, where to go, etc. On both days, we approached a very friendly staff at the concierge (can't remember his name now),and he managed to answer all our queries, and he ensured that we understood him before we go. This hotel is also strategically located for those who enjoy visiting historical sites. It only took us about 15mins to reach St. Paul's ruins, and you will be able to reach Senado Square not long after that. On our second day before we left for Hong Kong, we even had the time for morning walk to the Guia Fortress which was also about 15mins away. More of our Macau musings at www.afoodiesjournal.com.

Among all the five star hotel I have stayed at, this one is not outstanding - in fact I find it a little bit below my expectation.

One thing is the swimming pool - indoor and quite small 1 to 1.5 m deep. Apart from that, the gym facility is very limited, only running machine available.

The room we stayed is 13 F deluxe room with King size bed, no wifi connection, a bit disappointed end up using work laptop to connect to internet. The bed is comfy while not much more suprising with the money we paid.

One more thing if you decide to stay in this hotel - for ladies, when you use the hair dryer it can be very tricky, at the beginning thoght the dryer is broken, but when I try to close the drawer(where the hair dryer is fixed attached to the wall behind the drawer- the hair dryer suddenly start working -- took me quite a while to figure out this though. Highly recommend the hotel to place an instruction nearby so ppl can figure out how this work)

I am quite happy with the bakery or desert bar downstairs on ground floor, nice cakes by the way and the staff here are really nice people, always smile.

About the location, within walking distance to the city shopping centre, easy to find places with a map.

The bed is comfortable.
we check in at 9pm and then leave the hotel on the next day 11am.
so just for sleeping only.
it is quite noisy, the 'bang' of next door or beneath/above us.
we have got upgrade but no view at all. ahead of us is the constrution work of a building.

Room Tip: quite expensive for a night stay, the services is average

This is the best customer service I had come across in Macau since in other restaurants/shops are not providing such good explanation to us. The staff there are friendly, nice and helpful.

Room are comfortable, big and clean enough. Room service is provided daily too. The location is great since it is walking distance to 大三巴牌坊, about 15min walking. The buses are easy to be access here and the free shuttle bus provided is efficient too.

We slotted a 3 day trip to macau on our yearly trip to h.k. arr h.k. at11.30 a.m. and went to our favourite hotel the royal-plaza in mong-kok east and left the bulk of our luggage there and took overnight bags to macau, was dropped at the ferry terminal and took the turbo to macau app 1 hour to macau, cleared customs rather quickly and then took a cab to the royal hotel we choose this hotel because it was in the quieter part of macau check-in smooth room smaller than we are used to slept right through till next morning we then walked to the ruins of st-pauls and sonador sq,that night took a bus to the venitian-hotel did some shopping amazing hotel, final morning went to sky-tower and did the sky-walk with my teenage daughter would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Try and get aroom facing the park early morning watching the people doing there tai-chi..

We stayed here one night in September weekend - Taxi drive from the macau ferry terminal took about 15 minutes, propably not the most known hotel in Macau as the driver seemed somewhat puzzled at first.

The hotel entrance is facing a fairly quiet section of estrada vitoria (with 7-11 in the corner!), also walking distance to most casinos, I think Grand Lisboa was closest.

Staff was helpful at the hotel, check-in went ok. Had booked via the hotel online system asking for high floor, away from the lifts and non-smoking. Got all that.

Room itself was clean and tidy, altough some of the furniture appeared a bit old school but would say pretty typical 4 star set-up. Cable TV and free WiFi connection. In the wardrobe they were using some sort of strong scent to freshen up (same was also obvious in the hotel lounge area). Did not bother us.

Slept well, no noise at all.

Did not try any of the facilites or breakfast.
