It's like my wife and I were living in the movie Demolition Man where Taco Bell is a fine dining restaurant... Same feel. I didn't expect a Holiday Inn to be higher end...while not as luxurious looking/feeling as the Venetian across the street the Holiday Inn is on par with all the nice hotel casinos in Las Vegas. The rooms were very clean and spacious, wifi worked like a charm, the checkin experience was nice, there was security at the base of the hotel room elevators, and you could easily walk indoors over to The Sands and over to The Venetian. The price was reasonable, although prices for hotel rooms in Vegas seem cheaper in comparison.

Make sure to take advantage of the Hotel buses that will drive you from the Cotai strip over to the ferry docks in Macau...if you want to get away from the Cotai strip and see the old-Macau.

Hotel is pretty new and in great condition. The rooms are large and will seem so even more if you come from Honk Kong. The location is really good as well as it shares the lobby and Casino area with Conrad. Free shuttle service is provided from the port and is constantly available. There are no convenience stores within walking distance of the Cotai Central area, so best to bring things along with you before hand if you want.

My fiance and myself stayed in this hotel during the New Year. I didn't get down to writing a review till now, all because I have been trying to search for the name card of the front desk manager who checked us in but until now I still couldn't find it and so I decided to call the hotel and checked. We wanted to thanks Miss Anthea So, who checked us in and upgraded us to a suite because we were celebrating our anniversary. The suite is awesome and instead of going to the casino we decided to stay in and enjoy the suite..

Checking in is a breeze. We arrived in the hotel at 11.30am but they only allow checked in after 3pm. We went for a walk and came back at 2pm and they let us in. The hotel is linked to venetian and there are many restaurants around. They also provide free shuttle to the ferry piers. Overall we had a great stay and Miss Anthea So certainly made our day.

Stay in few Holiday Inn around the world including the one in Msia, so far their rooms and services have not let me down. Especially this Holiday Inn in Macao Cotai Central, is new, spacious, clean, safe, good services and good variety of international buffet breakfast. I'm impress with the lobby decoration whereby there is a fountain in the middle. However, to find the lift to your room is quite a test as one has to read the signage carefully since there are 3 hotels inside Sands Cotai Central. Once you have found the lift, you must remember the way otherwise one wrong turn you can't the lift. I had very good sleep on the comfy bed that I wish I could sleep longer. But with so many things to see in Macao, sleep can wait till I go home. Convenience location, walk across is Venetian Hotel, Hard Rock and Water Dance show. Don't miss this show, worth watching.

I'll first say I don't like the politics of Sheldon Adelstein and he owns this hotel and most everything in this area but the service is great and the concierge manager Lisa is the best I've ever experienced. The room was great but having IHG platinum helped. Would stay again or any other hotel that Lisa works. Printed out restaurant recommendations, made reservations, answered questions that took work to find out. Knew our names when we came down. Printed out airport info for our flight without our even asking! World class.

I quite liked the newness of the hotel. The bathroom was very nice and spacious as were the beds. The room itself was a good size too. Check-in was easy as was checkout and the shuttle bus to and from the ferry pier was great. Centrally located too.

Now, the biggest drawback, (apart from the price) was the level of smoking. If you are travelling with a family and/or are concerned about that sort of thing, then you should really avoid staying here. The lobby and elevators just reeked of cigarette smoke (you can smoke in the casino and there is no partition separating it from everywhere else in the hotel area). We had a non-smoking room and they still put ashtrays in the room for those who want to smoke...needless to say, our room had that terrible stench of stale cigarettes (see picture below)...it was in the walls and carpet.

I have stayed in hotels costing far less (eg. Shangri-La for example) and had identical or even better treatment and non-smoking rooms meant non-smoking rooms.

The Holiday Inn and the Conrad are basically the same hotel, the two taking the former Shangri-la and splitting it in half.
The rooms are very large and very well- appointed. I am in hotels 200 days per year and I can safely say that I have never been in a better Holiday Inn anywhere.
The staff are very freindly, professional and supportive. The breakfast buffet was well- done and with a massive selection -- the breakfast restaurant and meeting facilities are shared with the Conrad.
We held a three- day meeting and the staff were super to work with.
The surrounding area is a massive casino - fest. There are shops and restaurants galore in the hotels but not much else. There is an old section of Macau about a 15 minute walk away, and it's very charming. The casinos all run free shuttles into old Macau, so that's easily accessible as well.
