“Portugese Style Restaurant”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This was the best Portuguese restaurant we could find at a reasonable price. It is near the Westin hotel so a bit of a workout for a taxi there and especially back to the city -- have the restaurant call for you. Portions are large (family style to share) and good. We had green salad and sardines, followed by lamb stew and fish (there were three of us with different tastes, obviously) and lots left over. Service was very good although there was limited knowledge of the wine choices and recommendation of one that was over $100 (happily we asked and took the second choice at $50). A good experience overall and reasonably priced for the food and service ($180 for three, including two bottles of wine).

“Excellent food”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

Needless to say, this restaurant is right next to the Black Sand beach. Nice, relaxing location with sea breeze and the food was surprisingly good! I normally associate restaurants at strategic locations such as this would serve average quality food at the most. But not this one, if there was one authentic Portugese restaurant, then this is definitely it. We had the Grilled Cod, Curry shrips, stir-fried mixed vegetables with garlic and Clams with white wines. They were all cooked to perfection. The staff too were very friendly and attentive. So if you are staying at the Westin, make sure you make a reservation at this restaurant, you will definitely enjoy the experience!

“I cannot reccomend it”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

I went on a Sunday early evening. The place was too much crowded and too much noisy. Although this a Portuguese cuisine restaurant all the customers were Chinese, which may be a sign that Portuguese diners prefer other places. The food was very average (the vegetable salad was quite poor) and the service was slow. I don't intend to repeat the experience.

A cosy restaurant serving great traditional portuguese dishes. Friendly staff even though the restaurant was full. Would defo recommend booking a table in advance.

“One of the best Portugese Restaurants”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Miramar is always worth a visit. Delicious Portugese food in a sea-side scenary paired with home-made Sangria, lots of seafood and a variety of desserts. The staff is friendly and helpful, never failed to live up to our expectations. Make sure to book in advance as especially at weekends it tends to get full quickly.
