We were looking at the pamphlet in Galaxy hotel room mentioning small paragraphs on array of restaurants in the whole complex and we shortlisted this one for the dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The soup tomyum vegetarian was a burst of flavors and the kind i never had in Thailand even. The seafood dish comprising of 4-5 types of seafood was simply divine accompanied by generous serving of jasmine and coconut rice and of course superb service and attention we received. One of the most memorable thai food experience .

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful - the surrounds are dark and stormy but lovely and mysterious. Very calming. The restaurant itself, set within the surrounds of the Banyan Tree Hotel, is equally charming. We had a table off to the side which meant that we were able to see all of the goings on which was nice. The service was attentive and English speaking was no problem. The food was stunning as were the drinks. Well worth the visit.

On our first night at the Banyan Tree Macau spa hotel we discovered their Saffron restaurant. Their set menu at 628 MOP or Macau Patacas which is about 88 USDollars for two people proved to be a real winner! Fresh chilled seafood appetizers of clams, scallops, lobster and prawn, a coconut based crab soup, Alaskan crab and grilled Prawn with Tamarind sauce and pandan rice as the main course and coconut creme brulee. Great value for money and a very memorable specialty dinner.

They should tell us South Africans that you are required to converse in Chinese before letting us go to foreign places such as China or Hong Kong or MACAU. I was travelling with my normally patient husband and our 3 year old. Anyway, I won't say much of the nightmarish experience but we stayed at Okura Hotel and wanted to have some Chinese food. I know, we are in China but we were looking for something authentic and someplace quite. Well, we ended up in a hidden away Thai Restaurant called Saffron. I think it was located on the other property, Banyan Tree. I must say, I was really taken away by the hospitality that we received there. It felt like we were in a different country. The staff there was definitely not like the other unfriendly, cocky, rude and proud service people that we had experienced thus far. These individuals at Saffron not only made us feel welcomed but they were extremely hospitable in every way possible. There was this petit sized Asian Lady, I think she was the Manager and I think she told us her name was Leane. Not only was she the most professional hospitality professional we have encountered in this entire vacation but Geraldine really took a liking towards her. Thank god she spoke English too on top of the 20 other languages she speaks.... ;). Although Thai was not what we were looking for but Leane was really patient in explaining to us the differences and similarities of the 2 cuisines. We were actually rather amazed by her recommendations which we loved. She has definitely changed my perception on Thai food. If the rest of the people in Macau were just like her, it would have been a fairy tale vacation for us. But still, we had a bittersweet adventure. Thank you Leane and the people of Saffron. You all made our vacation a memorable one and we will definitely be back to visit because you made us welcomed.

We had a very lovely meal here - a very good range of Thai dishes that tasted pretty good - only criticism is that they were not spicy - we asks for reasonably hot but i think because we are westerners they thought we couldn't handle the it (and we don't like REALLY hot) but we couldn't taste any heat at all! They did give us some chilli on the side but it wasn't the same.

The staff were very attentive - if we wanted Thai food again in Macau we would definitely go again
