Tai Lei Loi Kei is famous for pork chop buns. It may even be the place that invented them. The fact is they do a very good one. We arrived before 2 pm, so they didn't have the traditional bread rolls. Instead, we opted for a pineapple bun. The pork chop was delicious. It had a savoury spiced flavour and was very tender. Combined with the sweet bread, it made a wonderful mouthful. Absolutely worth a visit to Taipa.

The pork chop bun was delicious. The meat was very well marinated and every bite of it exploded with flavour. It was also made freshly on the spot and the crusty bun added another layer of texture to it. Definitely worth making a special trip down just for these pork chop buns!

Ordered their infamous pork chop bun and first impression was the size of it. The pork pieces were still oozing in the oil that they were cooked in and the buns must have been toasted to achieve that crunch texture. Overall not too bad. It did not come with any accompanying sauces/ relishes but I think it tasted fine without it:) Worth a try!

The pork chop bun was worth the trip to Taipa village. There is nothing fancy here - just a piece of pork sandwiched in a toasted bun. But the flavours! The pork was lightly seasoned, crusty outside but moist and juicy inside. There is no sauce or lettuce to interfere with the taste. Luv it! They start selling the buns only from 2pm.

Tai Lei Loi Kei also has a small shop near St Paul's ruins (on the road on the left, leading to Casa Garden). Tip: Please don't bother with the pork chop bun sold at Sio Seong Hoi (in a lane off Senado Sq). There is always a queue there but the pork chop is terrible.
