“Disappointing”

Hac Sa (Black Sand) Beach
Ranked #55 of 244 things to do in Macau
Attraction details
Reviewed November 22, 2013

The beach is away from the casinos and busyness of Macau, and has good facilities, so that is the good part. Sadly, the beach is very narrow, because the sidewalks and buildings are so close to the ocean. The sand is in fact black right at the edge, and farther back is dark brown with hints of black. This has the unfortunate effect of making it appear dirtier than it actually is. I noticed quite a bit of trash in the sand. Hopefully, it is cleaned regularly, in which case it would be worth a short stop.

It will be good beach after reconstruction. Long beach (about 1000 meters) with dark sand.
You can go to beach by bus number 25 or 26A. It is about 30 min from Grand Lisboa.

Really nice area, out of the colorful light of the "Casinao" Macao. Time to relax and the beach you don't expect white sand by the name...
Only problem are the dirt and dog excrement around there. Even it looks to get cleaned from time to time... Not far from the Westin, what is a nice family resort and several small cute restaurants around the beach! Worth to visit!

The black sand beach is where you go when you live in Macau and want to go to the beach. The water isn't very blue, nor does the sand look any clean. The beach is usually inundated with teenagers doing barbecues or Chinese people taking wedding photos. I would try to skip this beach. Cheoc Wan is nicer..

The beach was rather quiet when we visited it on a weekend. The sands are no longer black, it seems that it has been filled with other sands due to erosion. Not really worth the visit unless you have the time. The beach was also quite a distance away from the other attraction.
