Laurel restaurant is the only branch outside the mainland. The headquarter is in Shenzhen. This restaurant offers traditional Cantonese food and several other famous Chinese food as well. For example, roast Beijing duck is one of its popular dishes. My favourite part of the roast duck is the crispy skin. The fat part of the skin was already peeled off. The skin and vegetables dipped in the sweet sauce are wrapped in a very thin pancake, and the spice of the spring onion dilutes of grease. It is the perfect combination.

We were trying to go for lunch on a Sunday but it was fully booked with a long wait list. So we made a booking for the next day. It was also full house when we went so it's best to make a booking in advance.

The restuarant was quite spacicous with nice deco without being too overwhelming. Service was good despite a little bit on the slow side at times. We ordered tea, dim sums and the signature pork knucles. All were very good quality and prices were resaonable.

A good choice for lunch within the Galaxy complex.

Suggest to get a seat around 6pm for dinner otherwise you have to wait for a few hours as no reservation especially weekend. They serve really good Chinese tea, of course food is excellent. I especially love one of their bread stuff with mince pork then panfry which's the best I had never try before. Dinner for two it's about $400 unless you order shark's fin, abalone....which will cost a fortune.

Galaxy Macau...
Noisy restaurant!!! A guy was playing with his tools behind a fridge.
Guests and Hostess were not surprised, it seems that this does happen every day!!!
We have asked the receptionist to seat us outside but the terrace was closed...
Blue sky ? And no time to set up outside and then we have had to deal with this noisy atmosphere.
We could have left but we have gambled and decided to stay.
The rest is history and the service was not there.
Food was not at the level of Laurel Restaurant that we know at ShenZhen and far from the one at Star Hotel Macau if i remember well...
Funnyy side of it, is that after 10 minutes the light went off and staff did not apologise in this dark restaurant...for the next hour the light went on and off like a "CASINO" (translate this italian word in English).
Reminder: Blue sky outside and not windy...
No excuses here, I am being bad, we will never go back to this Laurel Restaurant but we still believe and trust the brand. Management is not present or not at the level and health & safety procedure left at the door...
I wonder how Galaxy deals with them?

The food options available at Laurel is just phenomenal. Various food options available at Laurel give one's tongue a once a lifetime experience taste. The recipes are different all together from my previous experiences. Just worth visiting and also worth spending.
