“Torn”

Macau Giant Panda Pavilion

Like others that have visited the giant pandas in Macau I am torn about the conditions under which the pandas and monkey live, but I still paid the 10 MOP ($1.50AUD) to enter and look at the pandas, which I really enjoyed seeing. It really only takes about 45 minutes to see the panda's, monkeys and ostrich and was only about a 10 minute taxi ride from our hotel The Venetian. The pandas were chomping away on leaves and then sleeping in the short time we saw them. One of the monkeys was making the most horrendous noise when we were there, sounded like a siren! I did notice that they are building a new enclosure at the venue, I hope this is for the monkeys as the concrete cages where they are housed now is not acceptable. We saw the funniest thing, one of the ostrich was doing a 'no.2' and it's quite a unique thing to see!

It's worth a visit! It's not far by taxi (Macau's not very big). There are 2 pandas in the main pavillion. Also some random animals around the park..

It was cute to see them napping and eating! nomnomnom

Transportation is not good to this place, taxis are hard to find around and few buses.
There are 2 panda's but both were sleeping when we went there. Other than that, not many animals to see. Ticket is humble 10 MOP but after visiting i thought why i came here, it doesn't even qualify as zoo. The store sells panda soft toys but they are expensive.
Overall i suggest you not to visit unless you want to take a chance to see Panda's which you never saw before.

Love seeing pandas in person and how the panda climbing up the tree. The panda garden and entrance is free and you only pay HK/MOP10 to see panda in person. Great place and survnoir to choose from the shop. And also you can see other animals in the small mini zoo - Deer, birds...etc
