The Galaxy Macau complex does the best job of any of the new 'resorts' at providing for families. Besides the pay Kids Island, resort gets points for the free and low-cost kids activities scattered around the outdoor plaza. It was fun just to wander the area and see what we found. Plus all the restaurants we tried in the complex seemed to have high chairs.
As far as the Okura itself, room was clean and nice. Beds were bit odd, in having two doubles so close together. Room was less carpeted than typically the case for a nice hotel in these parts, but probably a Japanese touch and not a problem.
One complaint though is the poorly set up shuttle bus system. To leave the hotel for the ferry pier or other places requires walking to the furthest point in the complex, the secondary Crystal Lobby -- from where there's even a shuttle to go back to the Okura, but none from the Okura.....
On the other hand, Galaxy has an advantage over other Cotai properties in just being kinda across the street (on one side) from Taipa Village and the island's stores and restaurants, so one isn't as marooned as at other Cotai places.More
