We visited Rua Do Cunha in Taipa Village during a recent trip to Macau as this is the most important street in this little village on the island of Coloane. Here you can find a couple of good Portuguese restaurants, like O Santos as well as a rather large Koi Kei Bakery, which we always enjoy stopping at for braised meat "jerky", almond biscuits and egg tarts. There are also some typical souvenir shops on Rua Do Cunha and the nearby streets.

As for tourist attractions, besides the lovely little village itself, which for the most part has escaped the tourism buildup that you will see in the Macau city centre area around Senado Square, you can visit two decent museums here. These are the Taipa Houses Museum and the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History. Also, the Cotai Strip is not far. This is where you find the Venetian, City of Dreams and nearby Casino/Hotel developments.

We enjoy Rua Do Cunha and the Taipa Village in general. It can get a bit busy during the midday period but nothing like what you see in the Historic Center of Macau area on the main Macau Island. Also, Taipa Village itself just feels a bit more authentic, lacking the build up of band name shops that now dominate some streets, like Domingos Road near the Senado Square area.
