An important stop to make after arriving at the Taipa Ferry Terminal is the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) branch in the terminal, to the left, just after you clear immigration. Opening hours are 9am to 10pm daily.
This branch is designed in the same manner as their busy branch at the main Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal on the Macau Peninsula. You'll find a deep red coloured shop front, floor is in the manner of the Portuguese style cobblestones that you will see in many places around the city.
Within, you'll find a help desk with staff who can provide any information you may need. More importantly, you'll be able to pick up the free handy maps of Macau. These are essential for making your way around the streets of the World Heritage Area.
You will also find the monthly published 'What's On Macau' guide which details all festivals, events, activities, concerts, exhibitions and other performances taking place that you might be interested in experiencing during your time in the city. Lastly, you find free attraction brochures, self-walking guides and information about free wifi around the city.
Everything is free to pick up so definitely make sure to call on the MGTO office prior to exiting the Taipa Ferry Terminal and making way to your hotel or around the city for sightseeing.
