Visit to Macau for the Rolling Stones concert and thought that we (5 of us) would drop in to Platao for lunch - a couple of our friends had been here before and recommended that we stop by.
We arrived on spec and were met with a friendly welcome, as there were 5 of us a couple of tables were quickly re-arranged for our group. We then ordered some drinks and set about selecting some food.
For appetisers we ordered shrimp and bacon rolls (shrimp wrapped in bacon, then battered and deep fried), grilled Portuguese sausage and sardines.
All arrived quickly and were served without any fuss, and all were delicious.
For main courses we ordered ox tail stewed in red wine, seafood rice Portuguese, rack of lamb in mustard and herbs, and chicken curry. We also asked for a potion of mixed vegetables, and a portion of steamed rice.
All of the food arrived as it was prepared and all were superb - there wasn't a bad dish amongst any of them and the portions were quite large also.
We managed to polish off all of the food, however although most of us were stuffed, 2 of out group still has room for dessert - they ordered Crepe Suzette and again these were also delicious.
By the time we were ready to leave for the concert, we had all of the food mentioned above, 3 rounds of beers, 8 glasses of Port and a coffee.
When the bill arrived we got another pleasant surprise at how cheap it was.
All in all, a great day with good friends in a nice courtyard setting, great food, great service at a great price - wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
